Long awaited update which I will be updating more often 🤍
Three years ago, we received a simple text message that forever changed the course of our lives. At the time, we didn’t know all the details, the timing, or what the next steps would look like—we only knew that hope had just walked into our story in the most unexpected and beautiful way.
Today, that text has a name: Kanton.
He is three years old, handsome, incredibly smart, full of humor, and overflowing with personality. He loves all things superheroes and basketball, keeps us laughing daily, and has a way of bringing joy into every space he enters. Watching him grow, learn, and become his own little person has been one of the greatest blessings of our lives.
Kanton is also blessed with the very best big sister, Hunter. From the very beginning, she stepped into her role with love, patience, and a protective heart that makes us so proud. Their bond is something truly special—one filled with laughter, learning, and the kind of sibling love that reminds us how beautifully families are formed, not just by biology, but by choice, commitment, and unconditional love.
Adoption is a journey filled with hope, paperwork, waiting, uncertainty, and prayer. It is not a fast or easy road, and it can be incredibly discouraging at times. There were moments when the waiting felt endless, when silence felt heavy, and when we questioned if the call or text would ever come. What we’ve learned is that adoption requires deep faith, resilience, and trust in a plan bigger than our own.
Looking back now, every delay, every unanswered question, and every hard day led us exactly where we were meant to be. Kanton’s story, our story, and Hunter’s role in it all unfolded in a way only God could orchestrate.
To anyone currently walking the adoption path—especially those in the waiting—please know that your feelings are valid. The waiting is hard. The unknown is exhausting. But your story is still unfolding. Do not lose heart. There is a blessing coming. It may not look the way you imagined, and it may take longer than you hoped, but it will be worth every tear, every prayer, and every step of faith.
We are forever grateful for the journey that brought Kanton into our family, for the way it shaped us, and for the reminder that love is what truly makes a family. Thank you to everyone who supported us, prayed for us, and walked alongside us through it all. Our hearts are full—and our story continues. ❤️
