The three pillars (imo) that help brands turn into businesses are…

1) Brand Alignment
2) Marketing Strategy
3) Intentional Visibility

BRAND ALIGNMENT
▪️What’s the vibe of the brand? How does it look, speak, feel, and show up?
▪️What’s your brand promise? How will you deliver it at each touchpoint? Mission, vision, values?
▪️Who’s your target audience? What do they like & dislike, where do they spend their time? How can you get in front of them?
▪️What are your offers? Do they align with your target audience? Is there an upsell or downsell offer? What’s your pricing strategy?

MARKETING STRATEGY
▪️Do you have systems and processes in place to convert leads into paying customers? Think sales & nurture funnels, marketing tech, analytics, and so on.
▪️What’s the market & competitors doing? Have you done market research, are there any new laws, public sentiment, environmental restrictions?
▪️If you’re building a marketing campaign, what’s your messaging strategy, which channels will you use, content calendar/ creation/ management.
▪️Use analytics to determine if you’re on track, KPIs, channel analytics, data is your friend!

INTENTIONAL VISIBILITY
▪️Are you posting value-based content or simply posting to post? How frequently is your schedule, are you testing and trying different forms of content?
▪️How are you showing up, does it make sense for your audience? Are inspirational quotes crushing it, or is a different piece of content out performing it?
▪️What’s your engagement look like? Are people going from your selected channels into a nurture sequence? Are leads converting from your content?
▪️ Are you having fun? When it stops being fun and becomes more of a chore… it might be time to review the strategy and see how you can optimize it to become more manageable again.

In my experience, this formula/ series of questions can help you go from pushing a product in your audience’s face, to creating demand that people have to have!

And the awesome thing is that the formula is the same across industries 😮 you don’t have to reinvent the wheel. Use the tools you have available to you, and get to work!

All 1M+ accounts started somewhere. 🥰

If no one’s told you today… you’re doing amazing!

You’re right where you’re meant to be.
You’re learning through this journey.
You’re making decisions even when it feels like you’re not.

It’s okay to feel stuck -> You always have a choice.
It’s okay to feel stressed -> You’re nervous system is trying to protect you.
It’s okay to not have all the answers -> Life would kinda be boring if we knew everything.

No matter what you’re experiencing or going through, you can overcome it.

Change can happen, but you’ve got to put your mind to it.

If you want something different in your life, then go out and make it happen.

As BrenĂŠ Brown says, choose courage over comfort.

It might not be comfy. But what’s the worst that could happen if you took that leap of faith?

You’ve got this! And I’m always here if you need a cheerleader backing you up.

🧡 I love you 🧡
Rachel

The cool thing about marketing is that its fundamental practices can be translated across any industry.

➡️ Deliver your brand promise at every touchpoint
➡️ Know your audience inside and out
➡️ Deliver targeted messages that build know, like, and trust.

These 3 components can fuel any marketing strategy, campaign, content, advertising, and so on.

Not only will this increase the likelihood of finding marketing qualified leads, but it also develops the brand’s positioning and overall awareness.

What’s under my desk?

Branding isn’t just your logo, color palette, or fonts. It’s whether you deliver on the same promise, every single time, at every single touchpoint.

Here’s what I mean.

McDonald’s has been bringing back their cup giveaways from the 90s and 2000s. I believe it’s because they see the power in nostalgia. Nostalgia doesn’t just make you feel something; it makes you remember.

And a brand that lives in your memory has already won half the battle.

Then there are the brands that go a step further by becoming a brand category itself.

Need a tissue? -> You ask for a Kleenex.
Chapped lips? -> You reach for Chap Stick.

Does anyone ask for lip balm? I know I don’t. And that’s not by accident. That’s decades of consistent delivery, so consistent that the brand became the category standard.

I’ve experienced this firsthand when I lived in London and got homesick. I’d order a Papa John’s pizza because it tasted the exact same as it did back home. That one bit of comfort made me feel closer to home every single time.

That’s the real power of branding. It’s not just the visuals but the promise kept over and over again.

If you’re still building your brand, start small. Pick one touchpoint and make it unmistakably you. Consistency compounds over time.

What’s a brand that’s become a category name for you?

I spent the evening with Holly Rainey and at the Knoxville Entrepreneurship Center creating my August content calendar because YES even us marketers need scheduled time to work on our content too!

I love working on content calendars especially seeing how each channel plays a part in the overall marketing strategy. Last night we focused on Instagram, but when we can incorporate different channels like emails, advertising, referrals, etc., we can start to increase our touch points with our viewers.

For example, if someone is already in your pipeline, targeting them with a lead magnet to get them into your funnel may not be the best plan.

Why? Because they are already in your funnel. Instead, you could send them a personalized email and begin to nurture the leads already in your pipeline.

Marketing is about targeting your ideal customer with the right message at the right time on the right channel. And content strategy is one method to help you do that.

Thank you, Holly for your insights into Instagram and social media! I had fun and met some wonderful folks.

This is your friendly reminder to go look at your marketing analytics.

Data tells a story and helps us see what’s working and what isn’t.

For example, I’m working with a Knoxville, TN based dog trainer and we’ve been collecting and studying her website data.

We’ve been working on increasing her website’s SEO ranking and infusing the keywords into her social strategy.

We’ve been doing this by updating the SEO pillars on her site, adding blogs, updating her Google page, and creating content based on the SEO keywords selected.

We’re only in month 2 of this strategy, but so far there’s a clear trend of website traffic on Thursdays and direct & search are the top sources for the visits.

It’s a slow process, but the data shows us areas where we can improve, like posting blogs on Thursdays, and also areas that are doing pretty well, like our direct and search sources.

Without the data, we wouldn’t be able to make these decisions to help reach the goals and outcomes we have planned.

If we didn’t know people like looking up dog trainers on Thursdays, we could be missing even more opportunities.

Marketing extends beyond building know, like, and trust. It’s also about creating memories attached to the brand itself.
