This Star-Spangled Banner plaque is on its way to the Brazos Valley Veterans Memorial in College Station, Texas, where it will soon become part of a space dedicated to remembrance, service, and sacrifice.
The plaque features the first verse of “The Star-Spangled Banner,” written by Francis Scott Key in 1814 during the Battle of Baltimore at Fort McHenry—a moment when the sight of the American flag still flying at dawn became a lasting symbol of resilience, freedom, and hope.
Crafted as a 30" × 40" cast bronze plaque, the piece showcases raised lettering and detailed relief work, with carefully composed typography and flag imagery designed to reflect the movement and strength of the banner itself. The bronze surface and sculpted elements create depth and contrast, allowing the text and imagery to stand with clarity and presence appropriate for a veterans memorial.
Once installed, this plaque will stand among the names and stories of those who served—serving as a quiet reminder that the freedoms we enjoy were defended through courage, sacrifice, and unity. From Fort McHenry to College Station, the message remains the same: our flag still waves.
It’s an honor to contribute a piece that reflects both American history and deep gratitude for our veterans—past, present, and future.
