The idea is simple. Progress over perfection! Frequency beats highly polished posts any day of the week.

1. Before → during → after content

You don’t need a fancy reveal video. Pull out your phone at the start of the job, snap a pic mid-way, and get the finished shot. That’s a post. People are wired to love transformation, and your work IS the transformation. A busted tile floor vs. the clean new install? That’s scroll-stopping content that took you 60 seconds to capture.

2. Become the local expert people trust

Think about what your customers ask you every single week. “How long does this take?” “Is that noise normal?” “Should I fix this now or wait?” Each one of those is a post.

Film a 30–60 second clip answering one question in plain language. No script needed, just talk like you’re on the job site. Short educational content is dominating Reels and TikTok right now.

3. Use your city + neighborhood in every post

Instagram and Google both reward local relevance. Tag your location, name the neighborhood in your caption, and use hashtags like . When someone in your area searches for what you do, you want to show up, not a company 3 towns over. This is free SEO hiding in plain sight.

4. People hire people, not logos

You don’t have to be polished. A 20-second clip of you on a job site saying “Just wrapped up this deck in Irvine, here’s what we did” more trust than any graphic ever will.

Authentic, face-forward content is what the algorithm is rewarding right now and it’s what makes someone pick up the phone and call YOU instead of the next guy.

I’ve using Facebook and Instagram video ads for our contracting client that does remodels and here’s what’s happening:

In just over 90 days:
105 leads
73 estimates
23 new projects
$216k gross rev

We use a proven video ad structure that turns viewers into leads.

Precise audience targeting to get these ads in front of the right people.

Automated emails, texts, and calls to make sure no lead gets missed.

Video ads have been producing high-quality lead for the home service industry over the last 3 to 4 years. In a place that used to be so reliant on Google ads and yelp and reviews among other things, social media is really starting to take the forefront in the ads race and has been showing consistent results.

POV: your original estimate was way under because

after inspection, the termite damage was significantly more than expected

and you’re wondering how this roof hasn’t already collapsed into the house.

Your Google ads suck & you’ve tried it before, and it sucked then too.

It could be one fix that makes all the difference…

I’ve audited a lot of Google ad accounts, I mean a lot. One main thing I always see is poor conversion tracking. Most of the time it’s just flat out done incorrectly.

What this means for you is wrong tracking sending back bad data leading to expensive, unqualified leads…and nobody wants that.

If you’re not sure if you’re tracking is set up correctly, or if you feel like something is off, comment “help” and I’ll help you get your tracking right.

What a vibe 🌴🏠🔨

Life behind a camera is a good change up from life behind a computer. Today was a nice reminder of that.

Now that we’re offering video and social media management, you can catch me on job sites until I hire someone else to take over.

But after a day like this, I might not want to bring anyone else on just yet.

Have a realistic ad budget. It costs money to make money…

If you’re new to ads and want to use them to get new customers online, expect to spend $1k a month in ads to start then go up from there.

(You can start with a higher ad spend if your marketing budget allows) 😉

Once you start getting leads that’s turn into customers, that’s when you can increase your ad spend and scale.

Don’t feel you need an extremely high ad budget at first to be competitive.

But also don’t think that $5 a day going to get you the results you hope for.
