Founded in 2004, the company is comprised of hard-working professionals who dedicate themselves to building long-term exhibitor relations. We are adding a few Event Managers to our dynamic blend of youthful energy and veteran decision-making!
The Event Management Assistant position helps the event manager secures exhibit space by connecting with business prospects in assigned territories via phone calls and face-to-face meetings. The candidate must demonstrate these essential attributes: personal energy & flair, customer focus, commitment to excellence, fiscal responsibility, team work, attention to detail, and business insight. In addition, the candidate will be ask to work on a variety of office administration tasks for RJ Promotions and potentially our sister companies. This position is located at our Corporate Headquarters in St Joseph MO.
The position is currently part time, but could lead to a full time position.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Conduct sales calls with prospective and current customers
• Achieve weekly, monthly and annual sales goals
• Develop and maintain relationships with exhibitors while ensuring customer satisfaction
• Participate in weekly sales meetings
• Strive to improve performance and skills through training and educational opportunities
• Secure leads for potential exhibitors from sources such as advertisers, internet, competitive shows, association members, networking, referrals, etc.
• Proficiency in “ACT!” – a program which documents all sales conversations, including call history, scheduling activities, call results, contact information, exhibitor and prospect opt-ins, etc.
• Join relevant professional associations and network regularly
• Attend competitor events and follow-up on leads
• Follow standard sales procedures with attention to detail
• Potentially provide on-site show management and coordinate show set-up and tear-down
• Some travel may be required
SKILLS + EXPERIENCE
• 1-2 years of proven sales experience, preferably phone-based, inside sales
• Industry experience a plus, but not required
• College degree strongly preferred, but not required (or working towards a college degree)
• Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office required
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including presentation skills required
• Strong organizational skills, with the ability to multi-task and meet deadlines in a team environment
