Recently, I supported a company that assessed the environmental and social impact of goods used in interior design from raw materials through reuse or disposal. Re-arranging steppingstone in my garden made me realize that sometimes it's better to push out a communication, even if it's not perfect, then to procrastinate in hope of landing on the ultimate messaging and design.

Having written communications for Microsoft that weave in the magic of artificial intelligence and its ability to solve seemingly impossible challenges, I've been trying to understand why AI-powered chatbots are disconcerting. Then it occurred me. They lack uniquely human subjectivity.

The talk-of-the-town, for the past few months, has been artificial intelligence (AI). People are testing the newly released Bing AI-enabled search engine, conversing with OpenAI ChatGPT, and exploring other AI applications.
