Today, my marketing students and I enjoyed another wonderful dining experience, this time at LongHorn Steakhouse. This outing gave students an opportunity to practice dining etiquette, professional dress, and communication skills beyond the classroom.

Our students received so many compliments on their attire and behavior. Watching them represent Alcovy with such confidence, respect, and maturity made me incredibly proud.

One of the highlights was running into a former Alcovy High School student who now works there. It was such a joy to reconnect and see a familiar face welcoming us during our visit.

Thank you to the LongHorn Steakhouse team for their hospitality and to our students for representing our school so well!

Today, my marketing students and I enjoyed another wonderful dining experience, this time at LongHorn Steakhouse. This outing gave students an opportunity to practice dining etiquette, professional dress, and communication skills beyond the classroom.

Today, our students visited NCCA for a hands-on training experience with Amazon Web Services (AWS) and its partner, Sumitomo Electric Lightwave!

During the workshop, students explored the fundamentals of fiber optic cabling, fusion splicing, connectivity, and testing. This opportunity introduced our students to career pathways in fiber optics and encouraged them to consider additional training and certifications in this growing field.

Experiences like this help students connect classroom learning to real-world careers and discover opportunities available after graduation. Thank you to Amazon, AWS, and Sumitomo Electric Lightwave for supporting our students’ career exploration!

Today, our students visited NCCA for a hands-on training experience with Amazon Web Services (AWS) and its partner, Sumitomo Electric Lightwave!

Big ideas. Real-world feedback. Future business owners! 🐯💛

Last week’s Business Plan Workshop was an incredible opportunity for our students to showcase the businesses they’ve been developing, connect with industry professionals, and receive feedback to help move their ideas forward.

The energy was amazing! Our guest presenters were impressed by the students’ creativity, preparation, and knowledge of their businesses. Seeing them confidently explain their ideas, ask questions, and learn from experienced professionals made me so proud! 👏🏽

These photos capture our young entrepreneurs putting their hard work into action. They represented Alcovy well, and I’m excited to see how they apply what they learned as they continue their Georgia FLEX journey! 🚀

There’s nothing better than bringing real-world experience into the classroom! 💡

Today, my Marketing & Entrepreneurship students had the opportunity to hear from Savannah Stephens, owner of Kindred Paper, who shared valuable insight on the importance of branding, marketing, and intentionally positioning your product in the marketplace.

As my students continue developing their own businesses and products, Savannah helped reinforce something we discuss often in class: having a great product is only part of the equation. How you brand it, communicate its value, understand your audience, and market it can make all the difference.

I’m incredibly grateful to Savannah for taking the time to pour into my students and give them an entrepreneur’s perspective on what it really takes to build a brand. These are the experiences that help students connect what we teach in the classroom to what happens in the real world.
