We have a lot of customers that approach us for banners, large signs, vehicle graphics, etc. Today many people use ai tools online like chatgpt.com to create ads, logos and graphics. These are great tools for creating smaller ads and the images look great on screen. These images are not great for reproducing for larger type media.
Why AI Logos Fail at Large Sizes:
Pixels vs. Vectors: AI tools usually give you raster files (like PNG or JPG). These are made of tiny colored squares called pixels. When you make a pixel image bigger for a vehicle or banner, the squares stretch out and look blurry or jagged. Large printing requires vectors—shapes drawn with math that stay sharp at any size.
Hidden Distortions and Noise:
At a small size on a computer screen, an AI logo might look fine. When you blow it up to 10 feet wide, you will see messy lines, weird warping, and strange pixel noise that the AI created by accident.
Trouble with Vinyl and Cutting Machines:
Sign makers and vehicle wrap shops need clean, solid outlines to cut vinyl stickers or carve signs. AI images often blend colors together or create messy layers that cutting machines cannot read or cut properly.
Poor Color Matching:
AI tools generate images for screens (RGB color), but large printers use physical ink or vinyl (CMYK or Pantone colors). AI files often shift colors badly or print dull when converted for real-world materials.
You cannot own the copyright:
Many countries do not allow people to copyright art made fully by AI. Another company might use the exact same logo, and you cannot stop them.
So when considering having your logo or images used across multiple platforms like signage, shirts, promotional products you should always consult a company that provides graphic design service. CGL is glad to help any individuals who have logos created by ai and need assistance.
