"To give witness to and be present for an individual's dying journey, honoring their life so they may die well," this is the mission of a new program at Hospice of the Piedmont. Our END-OF-LIFE DOULA PROGRAM is designed specifically to train volunteers to support patients in hospice and palliative care. Death Doulas are vessels that hold people's life story, the values they want to pass on to their survivors, their hopes for their active dying period and more, all from a non-judgmental, culturally sensitive stance. End-of-Life Doulas empower and support both patients and their loved ones through the dying process working with our clinical care teams to do so.

Our next training starts September 13 - October 13. To participate, aspiring doulas must have Hospice of the Piedmont volunteer training beforehand. We hope you will join us as we meet our mission.
