I design and layout the quarterly program guide for Parks & Rec. Check out the fall edition, and register for a class led by one of the many talented and dedicated members of our community!

I teach Art Jam and Zumba classes there. Art Jam classes include one day workshops in acrylic painting, watercolor, and Zentangle as well as 4 week sessions of Sketch Club. Zumba is also a 4 week session for just $35. Music keeps me moving, and it’s always a good time.

The next Art Jam watercolor workshop is Saturday, 7/11. During the class, you’ll make a color wheel, practice color mixing, watch me demo, and paint a pre-drawn page or create your own drawing and painting. There are lots of opportunities to ask questions and to explore watercolor techniques. I hope to see you there! Register with Culpeper County Parks & Recreation

Catbirds visit my yard as the serviceberries ripen. They sing their lunatic song and wail like a cat, and I think they are handsome in their slate grey suits. This silly fellow is on his way to Fredericksburg for LibertyTown Arts Workshop’s June show called Birds & Capybaras.

My painting Ranunculus Rhapsody was accepted into the Dazzling Color show at LibertyTown Arts Workshop and is on display for the month of June. This painting is all about color and vibrancy, while still trying to find harmony in the whole.

New painting on Etsy. This started as a demo in my Fun Florals acrylic painting class, and I finished it while at the Charlottesville Arts Festival. It’s titled “She who learns, teaches.” Passing along knowledge and encouragement is some of the most gratifying work that I do whether it’s teaching art, English, or fitness.

Sun is shining at the festival, and I just finished this dogwood painting. This was from a photo I took of the dogwoods blooming at University of Mary Washington last spring when I was visiting with my daughter.
