Good skin isnāt just about the products you use or what foods you eat⦠The health of skin also depends on your environment.
The environment around you and inside of your head. These are a collection of things that make me feel grounded and present. The last slide isnāt exactly āhappinessā but it is part of life- feeling your way through things and instead of resisting change⦠letting go and allowing it to move you forward.
If we resist, hold it in and push it down - eventually it will wear on us.
While it is a fact that stress and the health of your skin is directly related - this is mostly a metaphor (one of my love languages) drawing a parallel between your life story and your skinās story.
Because whether you realize it or not, your skin tells a story. It will tell you when your body needs help, when it needs more or less of something, when your gut is out of ābalanceā, when your hormone levels change, when chronic stress has pushed you beyond what your physical body can take leaving your skin to sound the alarm and put the figurative stake of the final red flag in the ground in the form of eczema, hives, or another form of dermatitis.
We have to find some pockets of goodness in the middle of the dark. If we donāt⦠whatās the point of all of this? We need to hold those moments in our palm and stare at them longer instead of constantly scrolling to someone elseās storyline in an attempt to numb or shame ourselves into doing more.
Just be in your story.
Take pictures of your tiny drops of happiness this week and donāt let anyone make you feel ridiculous for doing it. These moments make a life. The moments that make you close your eyes, drop your shoulders and release that breath you didnāt even realize you were holding in.
Then look back at them before the start of next week and hold those moments⦠the ones that you created and the ones that found you. It will help you feel less overwhelmed bc youāre not starting a new week, youāre building a life.
The foundation is already here -
I think sometimes we forget that this is living. Life is happening and we are missing it - but not anymore.
