On September 11, 2001, the world witnessed an unimaginable tragedy — but within that darkness, we also saw extraordinary acts of courage, sacrifice, and selflessness. The first responders — firefighters, police officers, EMTs, and countless others — ran toward danger while others ran away. They climbed burning towers, searched through rubble, and gave everything they had, many giving their lives, to save others.
Their bravery was not just in their actions, but in their unwavering commitment to duty, to one another, and to the people they served. On that day, and in the days that followed, they became a symbol of what it means to stand strong in the face of fear.
But perhaps just as powerful as their courage was the unity we witnessed across the country and around the world. Strangers helped strangers. Lines of division faded. For a time, we were united by grief, by resolve, and by a deep understanding that we are stronger together.
As we remember 9/11, we honor the memory of the lives lost and the heroes who answered the call. And we are reminded that unity is not just a feeling — it is a choice. A choice to come together in the face of adversity, to support one another, and to carry forward the spirit of compassion and resilience that rose from the ashes of that day. 🇺🇸
