Starting off on a positive note...Butch's wife came though surgery well, thanks to everyone for the thoughts and prayers!

In more good news the demand for feeder cattle was strong this week, and the futures were up as well.

As far as other news...Virginia's markets were a little unsteady this week, Butch has the breakdown of sales from last week, plus upcoming sales you won't want to miss this week.

Beef Is the second-largest commodity produced in Virginia, supporting $712 million in cash receipts & thousands of family farms. As Brandon Reeves with Virginia Cattlemen's Association reiterates, “Beef imports of that magnitude have serious short-term and long-term implications for cattle producers.”

A UNITED VOICE ON BEEF IMPORTS

American Farm Bureau Federation, Livestock Marketing Association, National Cattlemen's Beef Association and United States Cattlemen's Association have joined together in a letter to President Trump urging him to reverse course on the proposed 90-day beef import plan.

Their goal: strengthen U.S. cattle production, protect producers and consumers, and preserve the long-term future of America’s cattle industry.
