Remo Williams Movie 🎥

Back in the mid-1980s, something unexpected appeared on the hills of Mexico City — a giant, unfinished version of the Statue of Liberty.

It wasn’t a monument or a gift. It was a movie prop.

In 1985, a Hollywood production crew came to Mexico to film scenes for the movie Remo Williams: The Adventure Begins. For one of the scenes, they needed a dramatic setting — so they built a massive partial replica of the Statue of Liberty on the slopes of Cerro de la Estrella, in the Iztapalapa area.

The structure wasn’t meant to last. It was just a set piece — large, impressive, but temporary. After filming wrapped, the production left… and so did the budget to remove it.

What remained was surreal.

For a time, locals could see the upper half of the Statue of Liberty rising out of the landscape, surrounded by dirt roads, fences, and open land — completely out of place, yet strangely captivating. People from nearby neighborhoods began visiting the site, taking photos, climbing around it, and turning it into an unexpected attraction.

It became one of those rare moments where Hollywood fiction collided with real life — leaving behind a strange, almost dreamlike scene: Lady Liberty, not in New York, but quietly sitting in Mexico.

Eventually, the structure disappeared, and today only photos remain. But for those who saw it in person, it’s remembered as one of the most unusual sights ever to exist in Mexico — a forgotten piece of cinema history left behind in plain view.

Mexico formally abolished slavery through the Guerrero Decree issued by President Vicente Guerrero on September 15, 1829, which prohibited slavery throughout the nation. While an initial exemption was briefly allowed for Texas to appease Anglo-American settlers, full abolition was strictly enforced by 1837, making Mexico a, National Park Service (.gov) "southern underground railroad" destination for thousands of enslaved people escaping the U.S..

Study 📖 Study Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth" (2 Timothy 2:15, KJV) is a biblical command urging diligent study of scripture. It emphasizes accurate interpretation ("rightly dividing") to gain God’s approval rather than human praise.

When you pray, enter the inner chamber" (Matthew 6:6) means to seek a private, secluded place for prayer, free from distractions and public display. By closing the door and praying to God in secret, you focus on genuine, intimate connection with God, rather than seeking human praise, with the promise that God will reward this inward, relational prayer.

Key Aspects of the Instruction:
Avoid Hypocrisy: Jesus contrasts this with hypocrites who pray on street corners to be seen by others.
The Secret Place: This is not about a specific building, but an inward, spiritual disposition of silence and openness to God.
The Inner Room: It represents your innermost self, a place to encounter the divine presence within.
The Promise: The Father, who is "in secret" (intimate, not distant), sees your heart and will reward you.
Simplicity: This private, intimate prayer avoids "vain repetitions" or "babbling" and is rooted in trust that God already knows your needs.
