With 15 years of experience in marketing, branding, and human behaviour, Hasan has advised top national and international brands, including Fortune 500 companies. He has also served as an advisor to the President of Pakistan, General Pervez Musharraf, Pakistan’s superstar televangelist Dr. Aamir Liaquat Hussain, and world-renowned cryptocurrency and digital innovation expert Waqar Zaka. He has previously worked with the United Nations in the United States, bringing global perspective to national narratives.

Asfand Ansari has officially started his chess journey.

At 5 years old, he has now started weekly chess classes and I’m excited to see where this journey takes him.

Chess is much more than moving pieces on a board. It teaches a child to think before acting, concentrate, plan ahead, understand consequences, solve problems, stay patient, handle losing, think independently, and make decisions under pressure.

As a parent, I don’t want to raise a child who only knows how to win. I want to raise one who knows how to think, how to lose gracefully, how to try again, and how to make better decisions.

And this is something I believe Pakistan needs desperately, children who are encouraged to think, question, analyse, create and solve problems rather than simply memorise answers.

Sports build the body.
Music builds expression.
Reading builds imagination.
Chess builds the mind.

At 5, there is no pressure to become a champion. There is simply an opportunity to learn, explore and enjoy the journey.

One move at a time.

And who knows… perhaps one day Asfand will teach his father a thing or two on that board.

It’s time we give our children more opportunities to think.

A pleasure to welcome Aqiq Iqbal Sahab, Chief of Community Policing Karachi.

Our conversation went much deeper than Community Policing itself. We spoke about Karachi, where we stand today, where we want the city to go, and what it will take to get there.

For me, community policing is not simply about crime prevention. It is about trust, responsibility, citizens, institutions, youth, technology, and creating a culture where people feel they are part of the solution.

A safer Karachi cannot be built by one department or one organisation. It has to be a collective effort.

What I appreciated most was the openness to discuss the realities of our city and, more importantly, the possibilities ahead. We may not agree on everything, but if we can sit together, listen, and work towards solutions, that itself is progress.

I have always believed that Pakistan is changing. Karachi can change too, but only if we stop waiting for someone else to fix it and start taking responsibility ourselves.

Aqiq Sahab, thank you for your time, openness, and commitment to Karachi.

Hopefully, this is the beginning of many meaningful conversations and, more importantly, meaningful action.

What can a 5-year-old learn from Thor?

Asfand Ansari holding Mjölnir high, waiting for December 19, and as a father, I find myself looking beyond the superhero.

Thor’s journey across the Avengers films actually gives us some powerful lessons to teach our children.

In Thor, he learns that being powerful doesn’t make you worthy. His arrogance costs him everything, and he has to learn humility before he can become the hero he was meant to be.

In The Avengers, he learns that even the strongest person cannot do everything alone. You need a team, you need to listen, and you need to learn to work with others.

In Thor: The Dark World, we see sacrifice and responsibility, sometimes doing what is right means putting others before yourself.

In Infinity War, Thor experiences devastating loss. Yet he gets back up and keeps going. Children need to learn that disappointment, failure and loss are part of life, and resilience means finding the courage to continue.

And then comes Endgame, perhaps one of the most important lessons of all.

Thor doesn’t come back as the perfect superhero. He struggles. He feels lost. He gains weight. He withdraws. He doubts himself.
And yet, he is still worthy.

That’s a lesson I want my son to understand early:
You can struggle and still have value. You can fail and still begin again. You can feel weak and still be worthy.

For me, superheroes aren’t about teaching children to fight.
They’re opportunities to teach courage, humility, teamwork, responsibility, resilience, sacrifice, emotional strength and the importance of getting back up.
So yes, Asfand can have his Thor hammer.

But I hope he grows up understanding that the greatest power isn’t Mjölnir.
It’s the character of the person holding it.

Now… we’re just waiting for December 19.

At 5 years old, I believe children should be taught focus, discipline, coordination, control and responsibility, not simply kept away from every activity that requires precision.

Today, we worked on aiming at targets using safe training equipment, not real fi****ms. The objective isn’t to teach a child violence. It is to teach him that skill comes with control, patience and responsibility.

Just like Taekwondo teaches Asfand that strength without discipline means nothing, structured target activities can teach concentration, following instructions, staying calm and respecting safety rules.

And there is one rule above everything else: safety first, always.

Parenting isn’t about raising fearful children. It is about raising children who understand their abilities, respect boundaries, think before they act, and know the difference between confidence and recklessness.

At 5, we’re not preparing him for a fight.

We’re preparing his mindset for life.

Always a pleasure meeting Mr. Humair Ahmed, now serving as the Municipal Commissioner of Gulberg Town.

What inspires me is seeing young people stepping into important positions with energy, ideas, and a genuine desire to improve our cities. Pakistan is changing, and I truly believe this new generation has a major role to play in that transformation.

A truly meaningful moment for me, receiving a Token of Appreciation for contributing towards nation-building from Murad Ali Soni, Founder & Patron-in-Chief of Community Policing Karachi, and Aqiq Iqbal, Chief of Community Policing Karachi.

For almost two years, I have been associated with Community Policing Karachi, and today, I had the opportunity to lead a distinguished delegation to the CPK Control & Command Center Headquarters in Defence and showcase the work being done on the ground.

CPK has built a community-driven network of 20+ stations, working closely with citizens to help prevent street crime, strengthen police-community liaison, improve neighbourhood safety, and create a stronger culture of collective responsibility.

What makes this model meaningful is that it is built around a simple belief: a safer city cannot be created by the police alone. It requires citizens to become part of the solution.

I am grateful to Murad Ali Soni for his vision and to Aqiq Iqbal for his leadership, and deeply humbled by this recognition.

For me, this is not about a title, position, or recognition. It is about contributing wherever I can particularly towards a safer Karachi and a stronger future for our children.

I have said it before and I will continue saying it: Pakistan is changing. And change happens when ordinary citizens decide to take responsibility and become part of the solution.

Proud to stand with people who are working for Karachi, for our communities, and for Pakistan.

Today, I attended the Summer Fest at The Ocean Mall on the kind invitation of Mr. Raheel Aslam, Founder of Art of Giving

I was humbled to receive a token of appreciation in recognition of my contribution towards nation-building. Awards are always appreciated, but for me, the true reward is seeing people come together with one purpose to create a better Pakistan.

One of the most inspiring moments of the day was meeting the children from House of Blessing. Their confidence, manners, communication, and values were remarkable. It was evident that they are not just being cared for—they are being nurtured into responsible, confident, and compassionate individuals. Congratulations to the entire team behind House of Blessing for the incredible work they are doing.

I also applaud Ocean Mall for opening its doors to meaningful initiatives like Art of Giving. Giving space to organisations that are genuinely creating impact reflects a commitment to community, not just commerce.

What I admire most about Art of Giving is its philosophy. Rather than raising donations for itself, it creates opportunities for NGOs to connect with the public, raise awareness, and receive direct support. That is the kind of collaborative thinking our society needs.

During the event, I also had the opportunity to speak about a simple yet life-saving parenting habit: every child should memorise their parents’ mobile numbers. In emergencies, getting lost, or unexpected situations, this one small lesson can make all the difference. Child safety begins with simple, practical habits taught at home.

Days like these remind me why I continue to say this again and again, Pakistan is moving forward. Not because of one individual, but because of countless people, organisations, businesses, and volunteers who choose to give back, serve others, and build stronger communities together.

This is the Pakistan I believe in, and this is the Pakistan I will continue to work for.

It was a pleasure meeting Mr. Aqiq Iqbal, the newly appointed Chief of Community Policing Karachi, alongside my dear brother, Muntasir Jawed.

We had a meaningful discussion about the present challenges, the road ahead, and the future of our city. More importantly, we spoke about the role every citizen must play in creating a safer, stronger, and more united Karachi.

One message resonated throughout our conversation: we cannot build the future by remaining trapped in the past. It’s time to move forward with positivity, collaboration, and a shared sense of responsibility.

Our youth deserve to grow up in an environment that is safe, secure, engaged, and full of opportunities. Achieving that is not only the responsibility of institutions—it is the responsibility of every one of us.

I was also inspired to learn more about his leadership at RIMS Trauma Hospital, where he continues to serve with dedication alongside his commitment to community policing. Leaders who combine public service with action always earn my respect.

Great conversations, positive energy, and, most importantly, a shared vision for a better Karachi and a stronger Pakistan.

It was a pleasure meeting my dear friend, Mr. Wajahat Kazmi — an accomplished journalist, media strategist, technology enthusiast, and one of the brightest minds of our generation, alongside my dear brother, Muntasir Jawed.

From leading newsrooms to driving digital innovation, Wajahat has built an impressive journey through dedication, hard work, and an unwavering commitment to Pakistan. Today, as Bureau Chief of WE News and having been appointed by the Prime Minister of Pakistan as Chairman of PEMRA Sindh, he represents a new generation of leaders being entrusted with responsibilities that shape the future of our nation.

I have been saying this for years, and I will continue to say it: Pakistan is changing. And I am committed to working every single day to contribute to that change.

For far too long, we have complained about the system. Today, we are beginning to see capable, passionate, and visionary young professionals stepping into positions where they can make a real difference. This is the Pakistan I believe in.
