Let me tell you what's actually happening behind the scenes when a lead goes cold.

You got the contact. You replied. You sent your prices. And then... silence.

In most cases, it's not because the person gave up on the procedure.

It's because your reply pushed them into comparison mode.

When the first message is too long, too detailed, or packed with information — the lead doesn't buy. They research. They start checking other artists, other prices, other reviews.

What actually works: a short first message with one qualifying question. Something like "Which procedure are you interested in?" or "Have you had any PMU work done before?"

That question does two things: it qualifies the lead and opens a dialogue — not a monologue.

Leads who answer questions convert at dramatically higher rates than leads who just receive information.

Your follow-up system matters just as much as the campaign itself.

She messaged me on day 18 of her first month.

"I don't think this is working. I have 12 leads and I've only closed 2."

I pulled up the numbers with her.

The 42 leads had come in over 18 days — a solid pace. The problem wasn't the campaign. It was the reply script.

She was sending a long message explaining the entire procedure in her very first contact. Leads were overwhelmed and went silent before booking.

We simplified the script. The first message became one single question.

Over the next 12 days, she closed 9 of the leads that had already come in.

The system wasn't broken. The bottleneck was the follow-up.

That's what happens when someone is actually looking at the data with you — not just running the ad and hoping.

Two case studies. Same campaign setup. Completely different results.

Artist A:
→ 41 leads in 30 days
→ Average response time: 5 hours
→ No defined follow-up script
→ Closed 4 clients

Artist B:
→ 38 leads in 30 days
→ Responded within 30 minutes
→ Had a simple qualification script ready
→ Closed 15 clients

Same campaign. Same market. Similar budgets.

The difference? Follow-up.

Leads go cold fast. The faster the response, the higher the conversion rate.

That's why we always build the follow-up process before we launch a campaign — not after.

The ad brings the lead. The system converts them.

If you've been following me for a while, this post is for you.

You probably already know you need a lead generation system. You're probably tired of relying on referrals. You've thought about running ads more than once.

But you haven't started yet.

I get it. There's fear of spending money and not seeing a return. Doubt about whether it works in your specific market.

Those doubts are valid. And I answer all of them.

What isn't valid is continuing to wait while other artists in your city are filling their schedules with the exact same system you keep putting off.

If you're ready to have that conversation — DM me. No commitment. I just want to understand where you are.

Meta doesn't distribute all ads the same way.

It runs an auction, and the winner isn't always whoever pays the most.

What determines who your ad reaches:

1. Relevance
Is your ad relevant to the person seeing it? The more relevant it is, the cheaper your reach gets.

2. Estimated action rate
Meta predicts whether someone will actually click, fill out a form, or send a message. If your account history is thin, it charges more to take that risk.

3. Bid and budget
What you're willing to pay per result.

What this means in practice: a well-targeted ad with relevant copy can cost 3x less than a generic ad with a bigger budget.

Strategy beats budget in most cases. Every time.

"I want to get everything set up first — new website, professional photos, a logo..."

Sound familiar, right?

This mindset delays businesses by months. Sometimes years.

Here's the truth: you don't need a website to generate qualified leads on Facebook and Instagram.

What you actually need:
✅ A solid portfolio (your Instagram works fine)
✅ A clear offer
✅ A simple lead form
✅ A fast, structured follow-up process

Artists with basic pages are generating 20–30 leads per month with no website at all.

Meanwhile, others are waiting for everything to be "perfect" before they start.

Perfection is the enemy of working.

Start with what you have.

Before launching any campaign for a new client, we look at five things:

1. Local market
How many PMU artists are running ads in the same city? Is there real room to differentiate?

2. Pricing
Does the service price match the audience we want to attract? Going after premium clients with entry-level pricing doesn't work.

3. Portfolio
Would the work convince someone who's never seen it before? The ad puts your work in front of strangers — it needs to land.

4. Follow-up process
What happens after the lead comes in? If there's no fast, structured response, the best campaign in the world still loses leads.

5. Expectations
The first 7–14 days are learning and optimization — not final results. Artists who understand this don't panic in week one.

Only after all five check out does the budget go to Meta.

There's a massive difference between a cold lead and a warm lead.

And understanding it changes how you structure your entire follow-up process.

Cold lead: saw your ad for the first time, doesn't know you, still comparing prices and artists in your area.

Warm lead: has already engaged with your content, knows what you do, and is close to making a decision.

Most PMU artists treat both the same way. Same script. Same tone. Same timing.

That's exactly why conversion rates stay low.

What actually works: campaigns that warm the lead up before they even fill out a form. The ad itself does part of the selling.

By the time someone reaches out, they're already halfway convinced. You just have to close.

You've been following me for a little while — so let me ask you something directly:

What's the biggest thing stopping you from having a fully booked schedule right now?

A) Not enough leads coming in
B) Leads come in but don't convert into bookings
C) I've tried ads before and it didn't work
D) I don't even know where to start
E) I am just afraid of trying it

Send me your letter in the DM.

I'm asking because the answer completely changes what you need to do next — and I want to understand where most of you are stuck.

I'll reply to every single DM personally!

An empty appointment slot doesn't just cost you the price of that service.

It costs you:
→ The rebooking that client would have made
→ The referral they would have given
→ The confidence that comes with a full schedule
→ The momentum your business needs to grow

One empty slot per week at $400/session is $20,800 a year.

That's not just lost income — that's lost growth.

The solution isn't to lower your prices. It's to fill your calendar with the right clients at the right price, consistently.

That's exactly what we build.
