Your target customer, client or follower is shaped by your mission, messaging and offerings. Are your posts attracting engagement from a potential new follower? Is your service structure built to solve a specific problem? In order to answer these questions fully, you first need to define your target audience. Here are some areas that need to be defined in order to ensure you are speaking to the right people:

👫 Demographics: gender, country, city, age
📖 Socioeconomics: education level, job industry, relationship status, family status, income
💁‍♀️ Influencers & Brands: other accounts your audience follows
💫 Interests: what do they like to do? what are they interested in?
📺 Media Affinity: your audiences’s fav channels and shows, editorials, events, places, blogs, websites, and apps
📓 Content: Domains, hashtags, users, links, keywords, and formats used in your audience’s posts, most liked posts, and influencers’ posts

✨️REBRAND REVEAL: Highline Bake Shop✨️

💡Although a ‘rebrand’ is a buzzworthy concept, it is one that we at girl creative approach with caution & care. The first step is asking the question ‘why are you wanting to rebrand?’. The answer to this introductory question helps us identitfy the issue that our client faces that led them to request said rebrand. However, the answer doesnt always point to a logo design issue. Many times the client desires to breathe new life into their brand and feels the quickest, most efficient way is with a new look. But, a differnet typeface won’t change the values and targeted clientele. In this case, we lead our client in an ‘audit’ of their mission statement, goals, marketing efforts, social channels, etc. to reassess their brand as whole. This informs us whether or not an aesthetic change is the most beneficial way forward.

🥐When Carrie, owner of Highline Bake Shop, approached us about a rebrand, we immediately knew that was exactly what she needed. Carrie had run a small cottage bakery out of her home for years while dreaming of opening a location downtown. Now that that dream was becoming a reality, she wanted to invest in a whole brand, rather than a stand alone mark. However, she knew the sunny energy her original logo displayed was an element she wanted to keep in the new look.

🧑‍🎨Wanting to remain true to the brand’s conceptual identity, we wanted to simultaneously modernize the feel and add versatility of use and application. We loved the sunshine reference & the artisan feel of the hand-drawn typeface. With our starting point established, we began to design.

☀️The end result is an energetic, happy & eclectic look that spoke to Highline’s personality as a business. Implementing various shades of yellow provided an iconic color palette for packaging, and upbeat accent colors for the bakery’s interior. For the brand mark, an abstract merging of the morning sun & a fresh baked croissant speaks to the pillar of the business - fresh baked pastries daily.
