Some places become part of a city’s story. For Miami, was one of them.
More than a restaurant, it became the setting for celebrations, milestones, and unforgettable evenings on the water. Under the vision and leadership of and , La Mar helped shape Miami’s culinary identity and introduced a dining experience that left a lasting mark on the city.
Over more than a decade, it also served as a platform for an incredible lineup of chef collaboration dinners, welcoming talents from around the world and introducing Miami to standout names and concepts like PASTA, Chef Carlos Garcia, Niño Gordo, and Torno Subito. From epic anniversary celebrations featuring powerhouses like Itamae, Central, Kjolle, Maido, Cote, and more, to vibrant Peruvian Independence Day festivities and Lunar New Year lion dances, these moments elevated the dining experience to new heights while strengthening Miami’s place on the global culinary stage.
As the former Mandarin Oriental, Miami makes way for its next chapter, we’re taking a moment to honor everything this space represented and the extraordinary legacy Chef Diego Oka and his dedicated team built within it. His contributions to the hospitality community and Miami’s dining scene will continue to resonate far beyond its walls.
It was a true honor to represent this concept from its opening to its final chapter, and to be part of the story that helped shape such a meaningful place in Miami’s dining landscape. We’re especially grateful for the many memories shared there alongside our own team and community over the years.
Some chapters close, but the story continues. La Mar will be back, and greater than ever.
