“The greatest thing about owning a business has been the freedom to run my business on a personal level. Owning an optical shop has been a dream of mine since I became an optician. When I realized being a parent of four kids and having a career was a real struggle I knew I needed to get creative. I wanted to be at home when my kids got off the bus but I needed to keep my identity as a professional. Opening my business in my home accomplished that and so much more.

After working for other people for 15 years I realized quickly that without the pressure of corporate employers I could get to know my patients, taking my time to ask them questions without the pressure to oversell. By being honest to my customers I gained their trust and kept it by fulfilling my promises.

My home based business allowed me to supervise and enjoy my growing children. When the 3rd left for college it was time for my shop to grow! My supportive husband and I purchased a fixer-upper building in Dansville's historic downtown. Being born and raised in Dansville I felt such pride in owning a piece of its history. Our downtown business is a dream come true. We love our customers and many of them have become like family, bringing us treats or just stopping by daily to check in!

Now we also have an AirBNB above the shop. That has been a great investment as well as providing a much needed service for Dansville.”

I can not even begin to describe how incredible this makes me feel. Working with Farrell's is a true honor and it means so much to see them literally taking full advantage of the work we have done together. Shout out to Sign Blazers for the design and application work on this truck wrap!

I'm delighted to show off this wrap project with everyone! Farrell's Lawn Service, Inc Ram turned out great. It was a pleasure working with this well organized family business. I had the opportunity to visit their supply center this morning. It's loaded with pretty orange Husqvarna CHAINSAWS and other equipment.
The truck looked perfectly at place out front. Shout-out to CJ Promo Design for contributing such a pleasing logo design to start with. It really pops on the silver truck! Made my job easy!

I cant thank Marcea Clark Tetamore enough for allowing me to be part of her exciting new business venture. We had a tight time frame and were able to complete the logo design, business card design, rack card design and website in a few short weeks. Her Husband Larry Tetamore did a wonderful job with her new professional portrait that really tied everything together. Good luck Marcea!

Working with local businesses has been and will always be a passion of mine. So when I can also support a client of mine by being a customer of theirs it's the cherry on top!
A few months ago I was having a meeting with Jenni of Mill Creek Optical and decided to try on a few frames while she was adjusting my old boring glasses. When I put on these purple, slightly cat eye frames Jenni and I both knew they were made for my hard to fit little face. I went and picked them up last week and couldn't be happier! Before I met Jenni I thought that you went to your eye dr. and the frames they had were your only options. Jenni opened my eyes 😉 to a whole new world of options that you wouldn't find at your average eye dr. Keep an eye out for the brand new Mill Creek Optical website coming soon!
