Sometimes, community doesn't begin with a grand opening.

Sometimes, it begins with one conversation, one act of kindness, and one person opening their heart.

Today, our family had the privilege of meeting Carly, who generously donated books, games, and many other wonderful items that will soon become part of our Morning Coffee & Conversation gatherings at the Iron Forge.

Tomorrow, while enjoying a cup of chamomile tea tonight and a grateful heart, I'll be cleaning, organizing, and preparing everything so these gifts can be shared with many others in our community.

Thank you, Carly, for your kindness, your generosity, and for believing in what we're building. Thank you as well for allowing us to share this moment while respecting your privacy.

This afternoon reminded me that communities are built one conversation, one smile, and one act of kindness at a time.

To everyone who has reached out today with questions about our services, transportation, volunteering, or simply to say hello—thank you. You have made this one of the most memorable days since we opened our doors.

For the third consecutive day, we're sharing our June "First Night Free" welcome offer.

We were recently blessed to welcome a visitor through a referral from the Salvation Army. While we don't know the individual's name, we're grateful they trusted Hospitium and the Iron Forge with their family's stay.

Sometimes families visit Danville so they can enjoy an evening at Caesars Virginia while their loved ones simply need a safe, comfortable place to relax. As our young organization continues to grow, we're not yet in a position to provide complimentary non-medical companionship ourselves, but we ARE able to open our doors with a complimentary first night's stay as part of our June Buy One, Get One Free special.

Our mission has always been simple:
"Build community. Include everyone. Make room."

Our Morning Coffee & Conversation gathering may occasionally pause while the space is occupied by guests, but our commitment to welcoming our neighbors never does.

Early morning departure.

This weekend also marked two consecutive days of serving our community—two days of customer presence and support. Every step forward is a blessing, and we're grateful for the opportunity to help.

Today we had the privilege of helping another home care client, and now our office is once again ready to welcome the next visitor.

Hospitium was created to be more than an office. It's a place where people can ask questions, find support, enjoy a cup of coffee, and connect with others in our community.

Whether you need non-medical home care, transportation through MYDRYVR, companionship, or simply want to learn more about what we do, we're here for you.

Danville friends, I have a question for the community.

How many of you have mobility equipment that's no longer being used—such as wheelchairs, walkers, rollators, knee scooters, crutches, or mobility scooters?

We're exploring whether there is enough local demand to create a community accessibility resource for visitors and residents who temporarily need this type of equipment.

We're not buying or renting equipment today. Right now, we're simply trying to understand whether there is interest from people who might one day want to:

• Rent equipment they aren't using
• Sell equipment they no longer need
• Donate equipment to help others

We'd love to hear your thoughts or experiences.
