I moved to Dawson County at the end of 2022 knowing almost no one. Within two months I launched a magazine. Looking back, I don’t know if that was brave or just a little crazy. Probably both.

What I didn’t expect was what this community would give me in return. Not just support for the magazine, but the kind of people who show up for you. Who believe in you before you’ve fully proven yourself. Who makes you feel like you belong.

Three years later, the June edition is in mailboxes across Dawson County and I’m on the cover.

I don’t take that lightly. Not even a little bit.

Twenty years ago, the Cowart family moved to Dawsonville with a dream of raising their children surrounded by land, animals, and strong community values.

Today their farm, Lil Cowboys and Angels, is home to rescued animals, family memories, and a life rooted in hard work, faith, and love for the farm life.
