We recently made a big decision: to merge Oregon Printing Communications with another Ohio printer called Promotional Spring. Last week, our CEO, Judd Plattenburg, sent the following letter to our customers:

Dear Friends:

The biggest responsibility of running a business is meeting the needs of your customers — both the ones standing at your counter today, and the ones who will hopefully come into your shop years into the future.

As I envision where the printing and communications industry is headed, I see more data analysis, more personalization, and more integration with omnichannel marketing campaigns. It’s an exciting future. To continue to meet your communications needs and offer reasonable pricing in that future, though, I realized that we were going to need a lot of investment. With the sophistication of printing equipment increasing every year, and technology life cycles getting shorter, simply keeping up was going to be a challenge.

To help take Oregon Printing Communications to the next stage, I’ve been actively searching for the last year for the right partner. During that search process, my most important requirement was making sure the needs of our customers and our team members would continue to be met.

About six months ago, I sat down with the CEO of a company called Promotional Spring out of Miamisburg, Ohio. Dennis and I quickly connected over our customer-first mentality. While I was looking for someone larger than Oregon, I still wanted a partner who felt like a neighborhood printer: someone who, like us, concentrates on meeting customer needs first, with the confidence that success will follow.

Promotional Spring is a larger shop than Oregon, with more in-house capabilities. Like us, they operate on the HP Indigo platform, with larger, next-level equipment. This allows for wide-format printing, more signage, and bigger jobs that can be completed in-house — offering customers more options, faster turnaround, and competitive pricing.

So, by the end of October, Oregon Printing Communications will officially merge with Promotional Spring. The new company will operate under the Promotional Spring name, with all operations moving to Miamisburg.

While the production will no longer happen in Dayton, you’ll continue to see me downtown. In fact, you may see more of me, as I’ll now be able to dedicate all my time to what I love most — meeting with people, generating ideas, creating campaigns — rather than also running a business behind the scenes.

Several longtime Oregon team members are making the move, too. Like me, they’re excited about the future possibilities and the continuation of our people-first culture.

I thank you for your support over the years, and I look forward to continuing our work together in this exciting next chapter. You’ll be hearing more details soon, but if you have any questions or concerns, please reach out anytime.

Sincerely,
Judd Plattenburg

We’re fortunate to have such a great network of walkways, bikeways and trails right here in our backyard – plus all the live programs they put on. We’re proud to support their work, both by printing their annual report and by making regular donations to keep our natural spaces healthy and vibrant. Thank you for all you do!

When we were asked to create printed materials for the Springfield Museum of Art – Ohio’s only Smithsonian-affiliated museum – we knew our work really had to shine. We took that literally, and we created this folder with a spot UV finish. We’re grateful to SMoA for trusting their brand with us. We’re also really lucky to have world-class art exhibits and workshops right here in Ohio. Check out their summer events and plan a trip! https://www.springfieldart.net/?time=current-exhibitions
