This shot was captured in August of 2024. I didn't get to process the image until much later.

I focused on the main picture being this HUGE stack of containers on a container ship with the Galveston Ferry coming behind. I can tell from the EXIF data embedded in the original RAW that it was taken with my 100-500. It looks like we were closer to the scene than we actually were. There is just a distorted Depth of field, and I like that. That part was intentional.

With all of that said, my very favorite part is the two gals on the back of the ferry. That was an unseen bonus revealed to me only during processing, and it's my favorite part of the shot, also making it one of my favorite Texas Coastline shots.

As they say in golf whether you make a fantastic shot, intentional or not 'That will bring you back'

Mitchel Lake Audubon is becoming one of my most favorite spots to go practice bird photography... there is a plethora of different Bird species that migrate here year round, the White Pelican being one of them. I got lucky to see quite a few this last trip as they begin migrating here to this spot of central Texas.

My Skylynn when she was about 6 years old has fond memories of her visiting here to give the little old man with a cane who ran the shop her one dollar bill for a snow cone. It's not open anymore but I am glad they kept the signs :)
