There is something truly special about summer at the Decatur Area Arts Council.

On Friday, June 5th, we had the joy of opening Form & Function: A Mid-Century Modern Time Capsule at the Madden Arts Center. It was an evening that beautifully captured one of our most cherished traditions. Each summer, our building comes alive as the visual, performing, and culinary arts come together, creating an experience that is as vibrant as it is memorable.

Missed the open reception? You still have time to experience it for yourself. This exhibit will be on view through August 7.

Celebrate 20 years of the Summer Arts & Culture exhibit at the Madden Arts Center, where you'll discover stories and perspectives that deserve a closer look. This year's exhibit highlights a fascinating period in American design influenced by Scandinavian and Japanese styles. It's a vibrant reminder of how cultural exchange has helped shape the American experience.

Come and see the show before it closes on August 7th!

Created by THE CREATOR to Create, there was some much more in this dialog that didn't make it into the video. But we love the perspective of what art does for the human experience!
