The James Clemens Jets Football program started their season off with a big time game traveling to Austin for the 1st game of the year. It was a big win for the Jets and Class 6A 1st & Sold Player of the Week MJ Gideon was a big part in their success. Gideon rushed for 139 yards on 20 carries & 4 TD's, 2 receptions for 67 yards & a TD, for a total of 5 TD's. Congrats MJ!

A huge win for Columbia High School to snap their 101 game losing streak! A huge factor in the win was Class 5A 1st & Sold Player of the Week Christian Richey. Richey is a senior running back for the Eagles and rushed for 207 yards on 18 carries & 4 TD's, had a reception for 25 yards, and a 44 yard kick of return to put the Eagles on top after over a decade. Congrats Christian!

Ardmore High School started off their season with a win in a thriller behind Class 4A 1st & Sold Player of the Week Javean Riddle! Javean rushed for over 100 yards on 17 carries and came up huge with a punt return for 73 yards for a TD. Javean continues to be a stud in the back field for the tigers. Congrats Javean!

This week Class 1A-3A 1st & Sold Player of the Week is the 2025 Player of the Year and started off his 2026 campaign just where he left. Addison High School quarterback Elijah Roberts threw 9-13 with 131 yards & 3 TD's, while rushing for 173 yards on 6 carries & 2 TD's for a total of 5 TD's! Congrats Elijah!

Congratulations to Lindsay Lane Christian Academy linebacker Bradley Boger for being Private Class 1st & Sold Player of the Week. Boger had 14 tackles, 5 assists, and 1 fumble recovery to help the Lions have their first varsity victory of all time. Congrats Bradley!

"That's just the way we like it" - This phrase was said by Coach Chris Hill during our interview, and there is not a better quote or phrase that would describe the culture and atmosphere at Mars Hill Bible School. Mars Hill has a new Sheriff in town as they hired Coach Hill to replace long time Coach Higgins who was there the past 10 seasons. Coach Hill is excited about being a part of the tradition and culture at Mars Hill and brings many years of experience and success along with him. Beau and Tracy from 1st & Sold Community had a great time talking with head Coach Hill and enjoyed hearing about his experiences and the love he has for the game and the young student athletes. Our 1st & Sold Community is heartbroken.

There are simply no words that feel big enough for a loss like this.

Today, we mourn the tragic passing of Qadir, a 1st & Sold Alumni and former Austin High School - Decatur, Alabama star quarterback who was doing exactly what he had worked so hard to do — living his dream and playing the game he loved at the next level.

Qadir was more than just a talented football player. He was an example of what hard work, dedication, perseverance, and believing in your dreams can accomplish. We were blessed to have the opportunity to watch him compete, recognize his accomplishments, and have him as part of the 1st & Sold family.

One of the greatest joys of what we do at 1st & Sold is watching young men and women chase their dreams beyond Friday nights. Qadir was doing just that. He had worked for the opportunity in front of him, and knowing that his journey has been cut short is absolutely heartbreaking.

Tonight, football seems very small.

Our hearts are with Qadir’s family, friends, teammates, coaches, the Austin High School family, and everyone whose life was touched by this young man.

The entire 1st & Sold Community will be lifting his family up in prayer — asking God to surround them with strength, comfort, peace, and love during an unimaginable time.

Qadir, you will always be part of the 1st & Sold family. Your hard work, your accomplishments, and the example you set will not be forgotten.

Once 1st & Sold… always 1st & Sold. 🕊️🙏
