Egrets have exceptional vision that helps them spot bait and fish beneath the water's surface while reducing glare. That's one reason they're such effective predators in shallow water.

The next time you're on the water and notice an egret locked onto a shoreline or canal edge, don't just admire the bird—look at what it's looking at.

When the sun goes down, a different world wakes up.

Under the cover of darkness, shadow lines, bridge lights, and moving current become hunting grounds for one of the most powerful gamefish that swims Florida waters.

This giant tarpon absolutely crushed the bait and put on a show that we'll never forget.

There's just something different about hearing a fish explode in the dark before you ever see it.

🌧️ TACKLE TIP TUESDAY 🌧️

Summer rain can flip the switch on South Florida spillways FAST. Moving water, bait getting pushed through, oxygen levels changing… and suddenly those snook that seemed impossible to find are chewing. 👀

But here’s the deal… jig color matters more than most anglers think.

⚪ Cleaner water → Natural baitfish tones
🟢 Dirty water → White & chartreuse
⚫ Heavy cloud cover → Darker contrast colors

One of our favorite ways to target them? Working a Flare Hawk jig through moving water and current seams where snook are set up to ambush.
