This week, one thing I’m seeing across a lot of home service businesses in South Florida:

The companies doing the best right now are not always the ones spending the most on marketing.

They’re usually the ones that are:

easiest to find
easiest to trust
and easiest to contact when someone needs help fast

A lot of homeowners are making decisions quickly.
They search, compare a few options, read reviews, then call whoever feels most legit in that moment.

What’s interesting is how many solid businesses are still relying almost entirely on referrals while missing the people actively searching online every day.

Especially going into the busier season, that gap matters more than most realize.

Quick thought
If someone needed your service today and searched for it…
would they find you, trust you, and reach out easily?

That’s where a lot of businesses are missing opportunities right now. Not because they’re bad at what they do, but because they’re hard to find or contact in the moment it matters.

This article explains what’s actually driving growth going into 2026 👇

Most local businesses think:
“If people can find me online… I’ll get the call.”

Not always.

Here’s why people DON’T call, even when they find you:

You have 10–15 reviews… your competitor has 80+
You’re not responding to reviews (it looks like you don’t care)
Your page feels outdated or inactive
No recent posts, photos, or proof you’re still busy
It’s unclear how to contact you quickly

So what happens?

They keep scrolling…
…and call the next company instead.

No notification. No missed call. Just lost business.

Most of the time, it’s not about getting MORE visibility,
it’s about converting the attention you already have.

If you’re curious what this looks like for your business, I’m happy to take a quick look and point out a few things, DM me "review"

Just read this and it confirms what I’ve been seeing across local businesses…

AI is everywhere right now and it can be incredibly helpful.

But it’s still just a tool, not a replacement for strategy, consistency, or real follow-up.

The businesses actually growing aren’t relying on AI to do everything, they’re using it to:

✔ Respond faster
✔ Stay consistent online
✔ Convert more of the leads they’re already getting

Because at the end of the day, it’s not about having more tools…
It’s about what actually turns into booked jobs and revenue.

👉 If you’re using AI (or thinking about it) and want a quick outside look at how it could actually support your growth, I’m happy to share a few ideas.

A lot of business owners I talk to aren’t lacking demand… it’s managing everything behind the scenes that gets overwhelming.

Curious, what’s taking up most of your time in your business right now?

Be honest… how many leads are sitting in “I’ll follow up later” right now? 😅
You’re not alone.

We’re doing a quick Thryv product showcase to show how businesses are cleaning that up, staying consistent, and actually converting more of what’s already coming in.

Spoke with a business owner recently who said:

“We send out a lot of quotes… but don’t always hear back.”

When we looked a little closer, it wasn’t the leads.
It was what happened after the quote.

One follow-up… maybe two…
then things fall off because they’re busy running everything else.

Meanwhile, the customer is still deciding and usually going with whoever follows up, stays organized, and makes it easy.

That’s where a lot of missed opportunities happen.
Not from lack of interest, just lack of consistent follow-up.

If you want help tightening this up, send me a quick message and I can walk through it with you.
