We're excited to spotlight the amazing businesses in our community through our Business of the Week series. This week, we're featuring Mid-Lakes Screen Printing, Monogramming, & Promotional Products (along with their adorable pup Lucy)!

Q - How do you stay involved in the local community?
A - "Katie and I established Katie & Christy’s mid-Lakes Screen Printing & Monogramming in 1993 and we continue to enjoy the traditions that we were assigned to create beginning in 1994 such as our town logo, with the help of Nancy Anderson. Shortly thereafter we created Hometown Christmas, an event that continues to get bigger and bigger every year. We created the Football and Cheerleading Exchange Program and for many years held The Girls Nite Out Event where we introduced women owned businesses within our community as well as participated in numerous fashion shows. Our Dolly Christmas Tree, named after our beloved rescue dog, Dolly, continues to get set up in November and we collect food, supplies, and financial donations which are placed beneath the tree for our Barry County Humane Society. Last year Santa and Mrs. Clause were here for a pet photo shoot to raise funds too. Additionally the doors of our store are always open for community meetings and or to be a drop off for any and all services. We serve on various committees and organizations that benefit our community and our school and we sponsor a variety of activities and events. Over the years we have been asked to speak to students at DK regarding establishing a business. Too, Katie serves on the Occupational Advisory Committee at the Michigan Career and Technical Institute."

Q - What is one thing you wish more people knew about your business?
A - "We are not certain there is just one thing that we would like people to know more about us but if we had to pick just one thing, it would be about our on-line store. It was created so that anyone could shop online from the comforts of their own home sipping a cup of coffee and to explain that we carry more than just t-shirts…we carry brand names to basics and a portion of those sales are donated to various projects and or charities. We also have several artisans that show case their wares within our store. We continually hear people say, “you have a little bit of everything” and “this is art in motion”. Our door is always open, the coffee is always ready, and a chair at our table is always available!"

Q - What makes your team, product, or service unique?
A - "We are a Mother and Daughter team that have been in business together for thirty-three years and we come from a long line of independent business owners. We live and work in Delton. As a matter of fact Katie and I are even next-door neighbors…Katie has been a coach and an official for over thirty-two years which helps coaches and teams get the information that they need regarding uniform ordering. Our motto is “we can put your name on almost anything!” and “we are just an e-mail away!”. This year, Katie was inducted into the Delton Kellogg Athletic Hall of Fame so she understands what coaches and teams are looking for. We take pride in our work, we love our community, and our word is our bond. We have been awarded both the “Highly Recommended” and “Business Person of the Year Awards” by locals on Alignable and received the Community Patriot Award from our Delton VFW Post 422"

Yesterday as the day was coming to a close, Katie said to me, "Mom, we will be celebrating our anniversary tomorrow as we begin year 33 of being in business together..and I can't believe it!" I explained to her that I couldn't believe it either! How do we thank you all enough for your continued support and encouragement as we travel this road together??, I am not sure...however from the bottom of our hearts...THANK YOU!!! We couldn't be here without all of you!

Congratulations Coach Katie Dolfman and Coach Dale Grimes!

Help us celebrate our newest inductees into the Hall of Fame! Ceremony will occur between the Varsity Girls and Varsity Boys basketball games Friday, February 14, 2025. A meet and greet reception will begin at 5:30 in the Delton Kellogg High School Media Center. Girls basketball tips off at 6:00 pm, and boys basketball at 7:30 pm.
