In the midst of everything going on—and in focusing on speaking on behalf of the brands, accounts and clients I represent—I failed to take the time to speak on behalf of one of my own companies.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

In case my silence caused any doubt, please rest assured: Evergreen Social Co. believes that Black lives matter. We believe in seeking justice for Breonna Taylor, George Floyd, and the multitudes of other black men and women who have been—and will continue to be—wrongfully murdered due to the color of their skin.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
We have been taking, and will continue to take, the steps and time to educate ourselves to be better anti-racist allies, to donate to charities and organizations doing the work, to speak out and make our voices heard, and to hold our partners, clients and colleagues accountable in doing the same.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

File under things I miss: travel. From camping trips with my family as a kid to cross-country roadtrips with friends and self-funding my first trip abroad in high school, to checking off some of my bucket list spots over the past few years (hello Barcelona, Paris, Florence, Dublin and TBH, right here in Denver), traveling has always been a huge source of inspiration for me—both personally and in my work.

Where are you looking forward to visiting when it's safe to do so? I'm looking forward to an upcoming *fingers crossed* roadtrip to Steamboat Springs, CO. —Chelsea

One of my biggest downfalls as a freelancer and entrepreneur: task management. With a varied client roster and another business to juggle, I struggle to fully immerse myself in one task at a time and often find myself flip-flopping around without a game plan.

How do you stay focused and on-task amidst a never ending to-do list? Tell me your secrets! -Chelsea

Hi friends 👋🏼 My name is Chelsea and I'm the founder here at Evergreen Social Co. I started Evergreen back in August of 2019 after taking the leap from my corporate 9-5 to create room for a more flexible work schedule to complement the demands of my other biz, . A few things about me:

—I grew up on a tiny, beautiful tropical island on the gulf coast of Florida
—I trained as a competitive dancer from age 3 to age 21
—I majored in Editing, Writing + Media at Florida State University
–I live in Denver, CO with my partner, Matt and our 1.5 y/o boxer mix pup, Curry.

Through Evergreen Social Co., I use my expertise in copywriting, editing, PR and social media management services to tell the stories of companies (big + small!) across the nation. Looking to grow your brand or know someone who is? Shoot me a DM and let's chat! —Chelsea

Something I try to constantly remind myself is that the people we look up to most—the ones who take risks, and make moves, and have the level of 'success' we aim for—they're just like us. They have similar doubts, and worries, and insecurities. What makes them different is that they've discovered the tools that help them get out of their own way.

I've let my anxiety hold me back from so much over the years. I've spent so much time over-analyzing the 'what ifs,' doubting my abilities and intelligence and ultimately giving excuses. The worst part? Deep down, I've always known that I'm capable.

Thanks to my incredible support system, lots of positive self-talk and proper medication over the past couple of years, I've begun to get out of my own way in so many areas of my life—but I still have a long way to go. The key, I've learned, is to be super careful about the stories we're telling ourselves.

What story are you telling yourself today? And is it rooted in fact or fear? —Chelsea
