Butcher the Frog…metaphorically speaking that is.

I was a middle school science teacher for many moons before launching Elodie Alice. And we dissected frogs.

I’ll tell you want I told my students- don’t be afraid to get messy.

Butcher the frog.

Learning is messing. Testing ideas seeing what aspects work- what don’t- and making changes. It’s a cycle. Question-test-analysis- repeat.

The same is true with online marketing.

Marketing is all about collecting evidence to discover what’s the right message to be delivered at the right time & space to your ideal client.

This process takes guts (thankfully not frog guts!) but it’s a process that works.

Rapid iterations lead to optimization of ads & not leaving money on the table.

Here's the hard facts....people often hop on a call with me after they're spent tens of thousands of dollars💵 on coaches, training and marketing programs.

What most of these "programs" lack is the personal touch - the customized advice OR they are coaching businesses being run by coaches who haven't yet achieved success (so they are just feeding you theories really!)

And most of these programs or coaches will get you to WASTE far too much Time on things like:
1) websites
2) logos
3) printing business cards
4) writing personal letters from the perspective of your ideal customer avatar, etc
* spend far too little time on the $$$ MONEY MAKING tasks of your business!
(AKA just put yourself out there!)

So many people have said to me: If ONLY I had spent some advertising at the beginning. Advertising (even a little a day!) is a great way to find out :
1.) who likes what you're speaking about!
2) What kind of offerings might they like!

So here's the TRUTH: start advertising way before you think.

It’s a catalyst to set your business soaring.

All those courses and programs that you think will be the ticket to your success are NOT. They are, my friend, just another fancy distraction from just putting yourself out there!

To say I've done a bunch of different jobs is an understatement. I've been a lifeguard' a middle school science teacher and Volunteer Coordinator. I've ran campaigns; scooped ice cream and currently operate a success D2C kombucha brewery.

I've come to realize that at the core of it all, we don't just want to be making more money in our work. Or even more time. Yes both of these things are important but they don't get at the real why. Why do we want these things?

We want to feel connected to our entire lives, to know and love ourselves for who we are, not just for what we do from 9-5.

My path to digital marketing is interesting to say the least!

I was a veteran middle school science teacher, who left the classroom to start my own kombucha brewery. ( )

As the Doer & Brewer of my brewery, I spent too much time trying to do all the things- blogs, reels, posts, SEOs, chasing media. The amount of energy I was putting into all of these endeavors did not get me the return I hoped. So I got smart- and learned how to do less, but do it better.

The heart of a business is to make money. For me this was a hard pill to swallow. I was a middle school teacher after all so service is a big part of my DNA.

But once I started focusing on the actions that generated money- my business started working for me- freeing my time and resources up for those acts of service.
So many times, we think of things as an either or. But I'm here to tell you- you can have both.

If you're an entrepreneur then you know the peaks and valleys of it. The ups and downs. Confidence rather than lack of confidence. This picture? This is the AFTER of a few amazing sales calls. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Last June, I was burnt out. I had turned on my ads and funnel to fill an agency space that was available. I had hired someone and was ready to scale some more.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
But nothing was gelling after about 20 calls. I felt discouraged and like I really had to amp up my strategy somehow. Except I didn't know how.
So I turned off my ads, took a break. Focused on my existing clients. Two weeks later, I turned on the ads and funnel again and was overwhelmed with a barrage of calls which then turned into my biggest month yet in my business, with 8 new clients in ONE month.

So do we need to rest? Hell yeah. In fact, I've found, when you can't quite make heads or tails of a time in your business? Take a rest. Reflect. Wonderful things happen.
