Seven years as a stylist and most don't know why this is so personal for me. For a bit more on how I got here, please read on ... And know that I'm here to help YOU feel most confident and authentic as you dress - for any occasion, big or small.

I discovered House of Colour after I had my 2nd child and celebrated my 40th birthday. (I'm now nearly 50 and my babes are in elementary and middle school!) My body had changed after years of pregnancy, nursing, and sleep deprivation. I was blessed with two healthy and happy children, but I also had new bags beneath my eyes and a closet full of ill-fitting and outdated clothing. I was attempting a “DIY” wardrobe redo when House of Colour found me. My experience was so positive and powerful that I wanted to share it!

I realized that — despite a lifetime of dressing myself each day, and thousands of dollars spent on clothing — I really didn’t understand the best colors and shapes to suit my natural coloring, personality, and body architecture. That all changed, thanks to House of Colour.

And now that I'm managing the next transition — with perimenopause weight gain — I'm still using my color and style confidence to show up, be visible, take up space, and feel most authentic.

June is Pride month. 🌈❤️ It’s important to us that every client knows they are safe and respected in our studios and that we celebrate and embrace everyone’s authentic beauty.

The original 8 stripe Pride Flag was designed and sewn by Gilbert Baker in 1978.

It was later modified to use less colors because it was difficult to source fabrics in all the colors. It has been suggested that Baker may have been inspired by Judy Garland’s “Over the Rainbow”.

Each color is symbolic. Philadelphia added brown and black at the top of their flag in 2017 to spotlight the importance of including people of color in the community.

There are now many versions of the flag with different meaning and symbolism. It’s all about LOVE and we have plenty for All People!
