In leadership, being ‘right’ isn’t the same as being effective.

Early in her career, Liza Adams fought hard for ideas she believed in, charging full speed ahead, certain that conviction and correctness would carry the day.

But over time, she learned a powerful truth: if people aren’t ready to hear your message, it doesn’t matter how brilliant it is.

Instead of going in hot, Liza now focuses on meeting people where they are, breaking big goals into bite-sized wins, building trust, and bringing them along at their own pace.

Her advice: If your goal is change, effectiveness will take you farther than ego.
