The Starbucks logo was created in 1971 by a graphic designer named Terry Heckler. The original logo featured a siren or mermaid, which was inspired by a 16th-century Norse woodcut. The siren was depicted with two tails and her navel covered, which led to some controversy. In 1987, the logo was modified to make the siren's image more modest.

Over the years, the logo has undergone several iterations, with the siren becoming more stylized and simplified. In 2011, the logo underwent another redesign, removing the outer circle and leaving only the image of the siren with her flowing hair.

The evolution of the Starbucks logo reflects the company's journey and its commitment to maintaining its brand identity while adapting to modern design trends.

In Costa Rica, when coffee was used as a form of currency, it was commonly referred to as "grano de oro," which translates to "grain of gold" in English. This term reflected the significant economic importance of coffee to the country's economy. The value of coffee as a trade commodity played a crucial role in shaping Costa Rica's history and development.

The rich history of coffee in Costa Rica and how Starbucks logo came about inspired these photos to promote one of my favorite Starbucks cold drinks.
