Why Branding Matters Series: Topic 4- Branding Creates Trust in the Marketplace.

Given the opportunity, a customer will choose a business with clear, strategic branding over one that is missing branding altogether.

Branding indicates that you are an established and credible business and sets up positive expectations for the customer. This translates into the customer trusting that the brand will deliver what is demonstrated through the branding.

Having a trustworthy brand is important. Do you have a brand customers can trust?

Joana Jaye Fine Artist Home Page Website Mock-up

For Joana Jaye’s homepage, I combined strategy with aesthetic to create her ideal website home page.
Using her color palette and brand elements, the home page is unique and stands out. It meets her brand adjectives being that it is contemporary, calming and grounding, natural yet abstract.
The home page is inviting and easy to navigate; it has a creative quality to it yet maintains the strategy necessary to get clients where they need to go and find the information they need to find.

Joana Jaye Fine Artist Logos, Illustration and Pattern Design.

Joana Jaye is a contemporary fine artist specializing in abstract painting. She seeks branding that represents her as a unique creative entrepreneur and that speaks to her audience, primarily millennial art buyers in the Midwest US region.

Her brand is contemporary yet grounded in traditional roots. It is calming and grounding, natural yet abstract.

For the logo, I wanted to create something that represented the flow of a brush stroke, and I was able to do so by connecting the letters with flowing lines. I also wanted the logo to represent a signature to express the unique signature an artist uses to sign her work.

For the illustration and pattern, I used procreate oil painting brushes to create the painterly effect of the abstract elements. I wanted the elements to be simple, contemporary and indicative of nature and natural elements.

Poppy Creative Studio Moodboard

Poppy Creative Studio is a photography and videography studio that specializes in portraitures for entrepreneurs. Their tagline, “Picture yourself standing out in your field…” is a play on words and hints at the brand’s wit and playful personality.

Freespirited, bold, unique and contemporary, Poppy Creative Studio is ready for branding that stands out as much as their work does.

For this mood-board, I channeled the portraits, still life photos and also incorporated the poppy flower to play with the name of their business a bit. The resulting designs that come from this mood-board will arise from the colors, aesthetic, lines, shapes, and textures found in the imagery.

Daydream Copywriting Co. Mood Board.

Daydream Copywriting Co. is a boutique copywriting studio that specializes in copy for creative entrepreneurs. Their tagline is “we craft stories that convert.”

The brand is playful, dreamy, ethereal, airy and light.

I worked on creating a mood board that would reflect these adjectives and that would highlight the color palette and nature of the brand. A mood board is meant to direct the design of a brand. I will pull patterns and imagery from these images to use in my designs for this brand.
