My journey on the road to “Relaxer-No-Return,” would begin after shedding my last strand of unhealthy hair in 2009. This would be the defining moment I would prepare to change the course and re-write the history of my hair. Fortified with determination, and a salon appointment in tow, I would enlist the expertise of a professional natural hair stylist, take a deep breath, and gradually begin growi
ng out my relaxer. The next two years after that day was the period of “transitioning-trial-and-error.” Like many women, I found myself struggling to make a real connection with my curls. I decided to journal my process as a therapeutic reinforcement and embrace my newfound healing hair care lifestyle. As I shared my daily grooming celebration, I learned and perfected different hairstyles and began bonding with my product preferences. At that point, it became clear that through my transitioning transparency, I managed to grow and nurture a community of like-minded curly heads who genuinely appreciate my fresh perspective and candid conversation. Thus, my blog has grown in popularity since its inception and continues to be a go-to site for restless naturalistas in all stages of their natural hair journey. While working with my hair, making how-to-videos and posting reviews may be a welcomed project, I glowingly speak about my MOST favorite role as a wife, and a new mom to a beautiful baby girl who is poised for social stardom as well!
