Amber Ginop didn't plan on a career in marketing. One chemistry class was enough to tell her that path wasn't for her, and what came next was anything but a straight line — a stint in LA with Nike, a newsroom in Alabama, coaching youth soccer on the side, even a season pulling coffee shots.

Today she's the director of marketing at HexArmor, a Grand Rapids-based PPE company she'd never even heard of before she applied.

Her advice for anyone stressed about an unclear path: don't be afraid to try new things, and don't panic when it isn't linear — because it almost never is.
