Former Detroit hitman Nate “Boone” Craft, known as the “Grim Reaper,” has died at 69.

Craft’s son told Deadline Detroit that his father died in his sleep Wednesday. Craft was associated with Detroit’s notorious Best Friends drug organization and publicly admitted to killing 30 people during his years as a contract killer.

Craft later cooperated with authorities, testified against other criminals and served roughly 18 years in prison before his release.

His family has since announced his death and is raising money for funeral expenses.
