Honoring our amazing Veterans and thankful for all who paid the ultimate sacrifice for our freedom. To them and to their families, thank you and Happy Memorial Day.
Veteran Owned Business Round Table
Navy Veteran Cesar R. Salcedo is grateful every single day.
At 19, Cesar came to the U.S. from Colombia. He didn't know any English and slept behind a dumpster his first night in the U.S..
He learned English by himself, worked several jobs including being a janitor and working in a kitchen.
He joined Waste Management as a mechanic completing his higher education, while also enlisting in the Navy. Eventually Cesar worked at General Motors as a Regional Fleet manager. During his tenure, using his mechanical and managerial skills, he led several changes which resulted in more than $900,000 in GM cost savings.
After his deployment from Overseas, facing PTSD and ADHD, he gathered his faith and courage and started his own trucking business.
"I came from nothing. I believe in God, hard work. I believe we are here for a reason. Mine is to be abundant and be a helping hand to others."
Today he has a million-dollar company called The Outbound Group, and attributes much of his success to discipline, faith in humanity and all the people and companies that have supported him.
"I'm lucky I'm still here. I'm grateful for my life, my great country and all those who served and didn't come home. God Bless them as their spirit will always be with us.”
We honor you, Cesar and thank you for being a member of the Veteran Owned Business Round Table!
