Sooo in June did a cool thing by highlighting all of these awesome BLACK people that’s doing great work in our community, and I just so happened to be one of them!

A lot of us like to say that we don’t really “want” or “need” acknowledgement for the work that we do but I call BS! To have someone say “ hey I see you, and appreciate you for the work you are going” is such a great feeling.

So even though this article was in June this is me saying Thank You to the people that see me and appreciate the work I do. I hope I can continue doing more great things!

Huge S/O to a lot of my peers that are also on here! I SEE YOU, and I APPRECIATE YOU and your work as well!!

Here’s to me celebrating myself for something cool!

I could totally go for another yellow wall moment at the apparatus room right now! The world has completely show everyone we are not in control.

Take these moments to sit down and figure out what it is you want out of life. Rather it be the type of friends you want, the kind of career you want, the type of money you want to make, the type of partner you wanna manifest, etc.

You have the capability to control all these things, you just got to do the self work first. After you figure out all the things you want out of life. You then need to figure out what steps you have to take, and what things you have to change to get what you deserve!

As we roll into the second half of the year there is so much for me personally to be thankful for. These last 6 months has literally been what you can call life changing! ⠀

I started off this year restructuring my company. I also went to NewYork for 8 days and made so many connections and got to work at NYFW. I lived out a dream of mine and competed as an all start cheerleader. I SURVIVED COVID-19! I started a social media campaign with international company. And then to top it all off I officially came out as gay to MYSELF. ⠀

If you would have told me that these last 6 months would look anything like this I think we all would say you’re a lie! Even though we are still in a pandemic. We have to be grateful for life because so many people have lost theirs in the last 6 months. We have to be grateful for good friendships because so many people don’t have those. We have to be grateful for stability because so many people don’t have that. ⠀

If this pandemic didn’t do anything it taught me how to hold on to my people just a little bit tighter. To pick up the phone more often, to let go of the petty stuff and have adult conversations with the people I love about my feelings. To live life to the fullest and be PROUD of who I am regardless of what anybody thinks. ⠀

Let’s be honest even though 2020 feels like a complete bust I promise you it’s not. Think about what signs you are getting, why could we be in this situation? Pay attention to the decisions you were about to make and the ones you are making. Let’s make these next 6 months better than the last. Also WEAR A MASK AND SOCIAL DISTANCE!!

This month has has been another iconic month for me. Last year I hosted my first ever pride event in Detroit!

This year I published my first-ever social media campaign with an international brand to celebrate gay pride and lead conversations that our communities desperately needed!

Working on this bumble campaign pushed me to limits I wasn’t sure I was capable of.

This experience showed me sides of myself I didn’t know existed! When I asked to tell me his coming out story he said to me, “You wanna know when I came out to myself or when I came out to the public?”

In that moment it made me realize I had come out to the public years ago but hadn’t really accepted that I was a gay black man until June of 2020!

So proud to walk in my purpose and use my voice for good! So proud to wake up everyday knowing who I am, and what I am worth!
