The answer is sitting in your DMs, your voice memos to your friends, the conversations you keep having on repeat, and the s**t you explain so often you don’t even realize it’s content anymore.

You know what to post. You just don’t think it counts.

The stuff that feels obvious to you is usually the exact stuff somebody else needs you to explain.

When I was talking to the marketing students at EMU this week, they asked me about AI and where I think it fits in creative work.

But I think the bigger conversation is that we’re entering an undeniable era where being able to create something is easier than ever.

And I think we’re starting to forget that once upon a time, it was your taste, your experiences, your weird little ideas, the way YOU saw something that people were paying for.

Because that’s the part even the smartest AI can’t duplicate yet.

Everybody can use the same tools. Everybody can use the same prompts. We see it all the time. Y’all be in people’s comments yelling “PROMPT” because you think it’s about to save your business. 😂

Use the tools.

Just don’t outsource the part that made you interesting in the first place.

Earlier this week, I got to hang out with some marketing students from Eastern Michigan University and talk about what I know best: social media, entrepreneurship, and figuring s**t out as you go. 😂

I’ve been doing this for a while now, and getting to share some of what I’ve learned with the next generation of marketers was pretty cool.

Also, yes, my favorite lil coworker was right there crashing out and throwing her toys p*e usual🤷🏾‍♀️ 😂

So what do y’all actually DO with all those posts you save? 😂

Do y’all redo them word for word? Put your little spin on it? Or do they just sit there while you keep scrolling for more answers?

At some point, saving more social media tips and tricks just becomes another way to avoid doing the thing you know you need to do. 🤷🏾‍♀️

And what worked for them might not even work for you.

Be honest. How many posts are y’all sitting on that you never went back to? 😂

You can have great content and still wonder why social media isn’t doing anything for your business.

Because posting is only part of the job.

Are you responding to comments? Starting conversations? Showing love on other people’s pages? Actually building relationships with the people you want to eventually buy from you?

You can’t post and disappear and then be confused when everybody else does the same thing. 😂

Social media is supposed to be social.

And if you don’t have time to create the content AND do the social part? That’s where we come in.

Comparison is the thief of joy, so don’t even start that this week. 👀

You don’t know how many posts they made before one hit.

You don’t know how many follow-ups, conversations, or opportunities came from simply staying visible.

The difference usually isn’t that they’re better.

They’re easier to remember.

And if people can’t remember you, they can’t think of you when opportunities come up. They can’t hire you when they need the thing you have.

But this is an easy fix.

If I were your strategist, I’d tell you to stop scrolling, open your camera roll, find a video of yourself working, and remind people who you are and what you do.

Seriously. Make the post.

Then tag me. I want to see you win. 🤎

You do NOT have to turn your entire life into content just because you own a business. 😩😂

Some of y’all don’t want to be influencers. You don’t want to vlog your morning. You don’t want to film yourself making coffee from 6 different angles.

You just want the people who need what you sell to know you exist.
