4 fish for 16.15 moved me up 13 places to 30th. Had the opportunity for a big bag today but them mean ole Smallmouth had other plans! 5 more bites and we will be getting paid before heading back to Oklahoma!

Day one at Lake Erie is a wrap. Setting in 43rd with 15.11. Can’t win it on the first day but you can dang sure loose it. We ain’t out of it yet!

I’m boat 106 due in at 5:30. Very iffy practice due to nasty winds but still managed to locate several good schools. We’re looking at some major wind changes that will re-position fish so I’m glad tomorrow is my long day to re-locate em! The National Professional Fishing League Stop #3 Watts Bar, TN.

Managed a 39th place finish and a $8000 check on a super tough post spawn event.

Heading in to this event I expected it to be an offshore bite. While fishing offshore I would get 5 times as many bites, but they were all small. So I chose to go with the vertical presentation knowing I would get a lot less bites, but I also knew if I did get bit they would be quality.

I was utilizing my Lowrance Active Target and 16" HDS Live unit from Crossed Industries to pinpoint the larger fish suspended on vertical structure. Normally I would throw my OMEGA Custom Tackle, Inc. Finesse Pitching jig on a FX Custom Rods 7'7" Xtreme Angler series but I chose to switch over to the 7'3" Xtreme Titanium Series rod for added sensitivity. The bites were super light and the added sensitivity was the key to feeling the bite and getting them in the boat. Below are some links to the products I used!
