I am located out of my house in Dodge Center and have 2 machines that I run embroidery with. My name is Melissa Holt Young, though you might know me better as Missy the Mail Lady from Kasson. While I enjoy delivering mail as a city letter carrier, my true passion lies in creating quality apparel for my community. I come from a family of apparel decorators, spanning three generations. My family own
ed and operated a customized apparel business from 1985 until 2015, when my mother sadly passed away from breast cancer. In 2018, my family and I moved to Kasson, and I began my career with the postal service. However, my love for apparel decoration never faded. In May of 2024, I took a significant leap and purchased another commercial embroidery machine to reignite my passion. This led to the birth of my all-new customized apparel business, Young Threads by Melissa Holt Young. Operating out of my home in Dodge Center, I offer services such as customized embroidery, DTF (direct-to-film) transfers, and screen print transfers. The best part? I do not have a minimum quantity requirement, my set-up fees are minimal, and my costs are competitive. With a long history of decorating school apparel, business attire, and fun shirts, I am excited about the future of Young Threads.
