Are business cards still relevant and are they worth it?

This is a question that I recently had to ask myself because most of my business has been generated online through social media or word of mouth, so the thought of having and handing out physical business cards never really seemed relevant to me. I mean, come on...it's 2022 and we're less than two weeks away from 2023...shouldn't EVERYTHING just be handled digitally? The reality is that the digital age has changed how we communicate—everyone knows this. For some professions, it’s even replaced face-to-face contact.
These advancements can bring into question traditional marketing items like business cards. Do we need business cards to connect with customers in the digital age? While you may think business cards are obsolete, they’re still very much used for networking and marketing.

Business cards are a very inexpensive and practical way to share your business with prospective clients in real life. Business cards are targeted; not only do they share your contact information, but they also give a quick snippet of information on your business and what service(s) you provide.

Not only are business cards often the first point of in-person contact with a prospective client or valuable associate, but they are also the item they take away having met you. The business card is a physical reminder of who you are and what service(s) you provide. We all know that you only get one chance to make a good first impression, and no more so than in face-to-face environments where business cards are typically exchanged. A relevant high-quality design and material will help create the right professional image to accurately reflect you and your brand.

No matter your business, profession, or job title, business cards strengthen your professional network and help establish a stronger brand.

I’m baackkk! After a much needed year-long break from this account, I’m back and I’m excited to share some of the projects I’ve been working on behind the scenes. Here’s a snippet of a web design & branding project that I worked on earlier this year for one of the most talented photographers I know

Allison is an incredibly talented traveling wedding and elopement photographer based in Idaho Falls and beyond. I’ve had the opportunity to work with Allison on numerous projects over the years but this is hands-down my favorite collab with her. I had the opportunity of rebranding her business, building a custom 10-page Squarespace website, redesigning her logo, creating social media assets, and designing her pricing guides!

Hey everyone! Long time no see. I wanted to take some time to reintroduce myself. My name is May and I am the founder of Desert Coast Design Studio formerly known as Honey Bee Designs and May Ortiz Designs.

I took time away to focus on my life and my new job but I’m back after a much needed break.
