For immediate release:
For the past 33 years I, have had the honor of being the face of College Street Printing, located in the heart of downtown Waxahachie. Effective June 1, 2026, I will begin the next phase of my life as I retire. I have been so blessed to have taken over for Mr. Boyd Box when he retired. I’ve had the privilege of working for him nine years prior to his retirement totaling 41 years I have been at College Street Printing. In my career I have employed dozens of people and each one of them will always hold a special place in my fondest memories along with an appreciation for their unwavering contribution to our company’s long-term success. I extend special thanks and recognition to Dianne Epps and Joe Bradley and the thirty plus years we worked together.
While employees are who show up to work every day making sure that deadlines are met and work goes out, our success would have been pale had it not been for our hundreds of loyal customers. Many days we’ve taken visions of work home with us as we strive to ensure your expectations were always met or exceeded. I am eternally grateful for the association and friendships we’ve built over the years and the trust you placed in us to provide our services to you. You all will be missed.
We began a search over seven months ago to try and find the right successor, and I think with a lot of prayers and trusting in God’s will we have found that match. As I approached retirement age, it was always my goal to try and find someone who would leave this 139-year-old company intact and as a continuing family-owned entity well into the future, capable of providing services our customers have been accustomed to. I am pleased to share that Randy and Jana Thurman, current owners of Sir Speedy Printing and Marketing in Fort Worth will be assuming ownership of the company effective June 1. Randy is a third-generation printer and has worked in the industry his entire career in various capacities and with his family working in the industry with him, our shop was the perfect match for his plans to expand. Like myself, Randy is a hands-on type of owner and has built his reputation on providing dependable service, quality workmanship, and strong customer relationships. He shares the same values that have guided me and this business for many years-reliability, service, and taking care of customers. I am confident that our customers will be well taken care of under his leadership. Our customers are the winners when combining the capabilities of both shops.
I will still be available to assist Randy and Jana whenever needed and hope to run into our customers often. Please drop by to see me in the next few weeks and to say hello to Randy who will be in the office beginning May 28. Thank-you again for allowing me to serve you. It has truly been a privilege. God bless you all!
