🔒 Your Likeness, Your Rules: How to Opt Out of Meta’s New AI Tracking 👇
On July 7, Meta launched its new AI image generation model, Muse Image. While it’s designed to make AI generation more "personal" by letting users reference public accounts, it comes with a major catch: anyone can now tag your public account in a prompt to generate AI images using your likeness.
According to Meta’s policy, you won’t be notified when this happens, and opting out later won’t retroactively remove images already generated.
If you want to keep your digital identity firmly in your own hands, here is exactly how to navigate the settings and protect your content.
🛠️ How to Turn Off AI Sharing:
1. Go to your Profile and tap the Menu (three lines in the top right).
2. Scroll down and select Sharing and reuse.
3. Look for the section titled “Allow people to reuse your content on Instagram and with AI features at Meta.”
4. Toggle off both Posts and Reels.
