As August winds down, summer doesn’t disappear—it simply becomes a little more intentional. ☀️🌿

There’s still time for one more adventure, one more picnic, one more afternoon spent soaking up everything Bucks County has to offer.

From strolling the trails and taking in the views at Peace Valley Park, to exploring the history of Mercer Museum and Fonthill Castle, or letting the kids’ imaginations run wild at Kids Castle, there’s no shortage of ways to make the most of these final summer days.

And of course, August wouldn’t be complete without farm-fresh peaches, sweet corn, juicy tomatoes and a scoop (or two!) of local ice cream. 🍑🍦

Maybe the best part of late summer isn’t where you go, but how you experience it—a slow afternoon, a spontaneous picnic, or a drive with nowhere specific to be.

Before backpacks replace beach bags and routines return, there’s still time for one small adventure. And sometimes, the best ones are waiting right around the corner. 💛

💛 Moms, this one’s for you. And especially if summer hasn’t felt quite as “easy” as everyone promised…

We’re spotlighting Amanda Sheroff, MS, LPC, Owner of Let’s Thrive Therapy LLC, who knows firsthand that burnout can look a lot different than simply being tired.

Between the snacks, schedules, chauffeuring, refereeing, working, parenting and being the default everything, it’s easy to feel exhausted, disconnected, overwhelmed—or guilty for feeling that way in the first place.

But Amanda has an important reminder: You’re not a bad mom. You might just be a burned-out mom. ❤️

In this month’s Doylestown Living, Amanda breaks down what burnout really looks like and shares simple, science-backed tools you can use in those overwhelming moments—from the 90-second rule and physiological sighs to practicing self-compassion and finding those tiny moments to reset.

Because sometimes taking care of yourself doesn’t mean finding an entire afternoon to yourself. Sometimes it’s 30 seconds, one deep breath, or finally drinking that coffee while it’s still warm. ☕️

✨ Ready to feel a little more like yourself again? Check out the full article in this month’s issue of Doylestown Living and discover more from Amanda and Let’s Thrive Therapy LLC.

☀️🏊‍♀️ Doylestown friends... how's your pool holding up this summer? 🌊

The hot weather may be perfect for swimming, but it's also the perfect recipe for algae growth! That's why this month's Doylestown Living features expert advice from our friends at Dietrich Pool Service to help keep your pool crystal clear all season long.

💦 A few helpful reminders:
✔️ Warmer temperatures and summer storms can lead to algae blooms.
✔️ A monthly phosphate remover can help prevent unwanted green guests.
✔️ Mustard algae can spread FAST, so catching it early is key.
✔️ Stay hydrated while you're swimming—you can still become dehydrated even in the pool!
🐶 And as adorable as it is to watch pups take a dip, keep in mind that pets can put extra strain on your pool's filtration system.

Here's to making the most of these sunny days and enjoying a safe, sparkling pool all summer long! 😎

📖 Be sure to check out this month's issue of Doylestown Living for even more expert pool care tips from Dietrich Pool Service.

💬 Tell us: What's your favorite way to spend a summer day by the pool—floating with a good book, hosting a BBQ, or playing pool games?

✨ Meet the Simeks of Hillside Avenue ✨

As July brings long evenings, open windows and porch-side conversations to Doylestown, we’re celebrating the people who make this borough feel like home. ❤️

For Joe and Alexis Ridge-Simek, along with daughters Fiona and Aria, Doylestown is more than a place to live—it’s a community built through connection, service and showing up for one another.

Since moving here in 2009, the family has embraced the rhythms of neighborhood life: summers at Hillside Park, evenings with neighbors and a shared belief that a town becomes special because of the people who invest in it.

From their unexpected college love story at Arizona State University to building a life rooted in mindfulness, family and community, the Simeks have followed a path guided by intention. Their journey has included unforgettable adventures, like a month living in a Florida Keys trailer during the early pandemic, as well as quieter moments found right at home.

After discovering the transformative power of yoga, Alexis and Joe built a new chapter centered around wellness, opening Dragonfly Yoga Studio and creating a space focused on balance, recovery and connection.

Their commitment to service extends throughout their family—from supporting children in foster care to their daughters’ dedication to dance, academics and leadership. Fiona’s creation of GeoMun, a Model UN program for middle school students, recently earned her the Doylestown Borough Youth Leadership Award.

And of course, no family story would be complete without the furry members of the household—rabbit Bun Bun and Matilda, the Maltese-Cocker Spaniel mix who keeps the family’s home full of love.

The Simeks’ story is a reminder that community isn’t something we simply belong to—it’s something we help create. 🌿

Read more about their journey, their love for Doylestown and the little moments that make a neighborhood feel like home in this month’s issue of Doylestown Living.

Sometimes the best art begins with pulling over on the side of the road. 🎨🚗

Bucks County artist Jane Ramsey finds inspiration in the everyday beauty that surrounds us—from quiet country roads to the landscapes that make our community so special.

Growing up in Lumberville surrounded by working artists, she developed a lifelong love of sketching and painting, with pencil still being her favorite tool to this day.

Today, you can find Jane creating and teaching from her gallery and studio at Simons Fine Art Framing in Dublin, where visitors are always welcome to stop in, explore her latest work, and even catch a glimpse of pieces in progress.

We're thrilled to share Jane's inspiring story in this month's Doylestown Living. Be sure to check out the issue, then show a local artist some love by visiting her studio or exploring more of her work at www.janeramsey.com. 💛

☀️🌿 Slow summer days, big memories. 💛

There’s something magical about summer in Doylestown — the long afternoons, warm evenings, and extra time for kids to explore, create, and just be kids. But with screens always close by, many families are looking for simple ways to unplug and reconnect with the world around them.

The good news? A screen-free summer doesn’t have to mean a packed schedule or expensive activities. Sometimes the most meaningful moments come from the simplest ideas! ✨

📚 Explore local libraries — discover new books, join summer reading programs, get creative with crafts, and enjoy community events that inspire curiosity.

🚲 Turn everyday walks into adventures — take a bike ride, explore neighborhood streets, visit a trail, or challenge kids to spot birds, flowers, and little details they might normally miss.

💦 Embrace outdoor play — sidewalk chalk, backyard games, water balloons, sprinkler fun, and homemade obstacle courses can turn an ordinary afternoon into a favorite summer memory.

🌳 Spend time in nature — from a visit to Peace Valley Park to exploring local green spaces, the outdoors offers endless opportunities to discover, move, and recharge.

🎨 Get creative at home — bake together, start a garden, paint, build something, write stories, or create a summer journal filled with adventures.

The goal isn’t to create the “perfect” summer — it’s to make room for imagination, movement, connection, and even a little boredom (which is often where creativity begins!). 🌻

Looking for more ideas to help your family unplug and enjoy the season? Check out the full article in this month’s issue of Doylestown Living! 💚
