The past 13 years she was the communications director for Jordan School District. She resigned her position a year ago to be a stay-home mom and be more active at her sons’ school. She has served as the director of Media Relations for Weber State University, and coordinator of Press Relations at Ricks College (now BYU-Idaho). She has been a reporter for newspapers in Utah, Idaho and Montana. She h

as also been an adjunct communications instructor for the BYU-Salt Lake Center and Ricks College. Colton has won national awards for her writing, website content, and numerous public relations’ campaigns. She is a frequent presenter for Utah education organizations on the topics of media relations, public relations, customer service and marketing. She has served twice as president of the Utah School Public Relations Association.
