Created a capsule wardrobe for someone (an autumn) going on a casual Hawaii trip this month!
We wanted to keep it to no more than 5 tops 5 bottoms and a couple dresses, plus 1 travel outfit with a jacket/sweatshirt if the plane is cold or the evenings get chilly
A couple skirts didn’t have 5 mates, but that’s ok. We customized to her wants.
She still has 2-3 options for each.
She’s not a big accessories girl, so I forced one bracelet on her for going to dinner lol
She will have more outfits than she will need…. But that leaves it to her mood to decide.
Knowing your season makes life sooooo much easier!

8 pieces that will make your closet feel current for fall 2026
1. A cropped or fitted blazer or jacket. With all the wide leg, barrel denim and pants, this balances out the proportions
2. A darker wash denim. Whatever the darkest wash is of your season.
3. A great belt. A belt adds interest to your look. Find one in your season so it matches your whole wardrobe.
4. A rich suede or suede look piece. A jacket, purse, belt, shoe/boot.
5. An updated loafer. Think sleeker or chunkier, some are even a bit gathered.
6. A polished layering top. Something a step up from a tee, so when you take off the jacket it looks intentional.
7. A statement piece of jewelry. A pendant necklace, layered chains of different thickness, a colorful bangle, or earring. “Statement” is relative, according to your clothing personality and proportions.
8. One authentically YOU piece. A print, texture, color, that is SO you!

Some other honorable mentions…
Funnel neck jacket, something in your seasons purple, plaid/checks, derby or 2 tone shoes, corduroy, satin, peplum tops if it fits your clothing personality and body architecture
