ROAD CONDITIONS: Most roads in Minnesota are partially snow-covered this morning and a few are completely covered. Roads are slick, so take it slow out there this morning.

Free bids don’t be afraid to call!

The first accumulating snow of the season is expected on Saturday. Snow will start late Friday night and become heavier Saturday morning into early afternoon. As temperatures warm up, the snow will likely mix with rain over east-central Minnesota and into northwest Wisconsin. The precipitation will taper off to light snow showers and flurries late Saturday evening and Saturday night. The highest snowfall accumulations are expected in the Iron Range, International Border, and higher terrain of the North Shore. There is expected to be high variability in snowfall amounts along the North Shore, with the higher elevations seeing locally greater than 5 inches of snow while areas within a mile or two of the shoreline see one inch or less. There is some uncertainty in snowfall amounts in the Brainerd Lakes in central Minnesota and east into northwest Wisconsin, where warmer temperatures and rain mixing in may limit snowfall amounts some. Since this is the first widespread accumulating snowfall of the season, use extra caution if you must travel. Allow extra time to reach your destinations and allow plenty of space between vehicles. This snow will also be of the wet and heavy variety, so be sure to use caution and take breaks when shoveling!
