I think it’s pretty dope how we can reach back and pull power from our old experiences. For me, it’s always been music, the stuff that raised us before we even knew we were being raised.
A few months back I watched an Earth, Wind & Fire documentary (yeah, I know… showing my age). It hit me with those old‑school slaps my Mom and Auntie used to blast. City drives. Cookouts. BBQ‘s. California beaches. All that warmth. All that rhythm.
Probably why there’s so much joy in this piece.

Being a teacher gives me the chance to meet a lot of people, and sooner or later they find out what I really do outside the classroom.
These days my work is built on real relationships, not just digital connections.
One of those relationships turned into a project I’m proud of, creating a logo for a senior citizen travel brand.
The mark is a GPS orbiting the sun and the ocean.
A design that works just as well on a boarding pass as it does on a beach tote.
That’s the vibe I love, rooted in relationships and built to last.
